What would you do with these cabinets?

What would you do with these cabinets as far as color?
I dont care too much for the light shade of oak that the cabinets and island currently have.
Granite is very dark and has to stay.
Wall color might be a medium gray soon. Still deciding on paint, apparently previous owner loved light pink since every. single. room. in the entire house is this color.
Ceiling will be white
I am flipping back and forth between staining them a little bit darker, or painting white and glazing so it isnt "too" white.

Stain darker.
I definitely would not paint white. That's a huge pita.
ETA: make them match the floor in the den to the right.

agreed. 2 coats of white, wait 24hr to glaze, etc.
Stain will be work but probably a little easier. Sand topcoat off, wipe stain on, topcoat?

If you paint, every door, hinge, and handle is coming off. That's just a huge cluster even if you have the time.

Food and drink?

It's kind of like an interior decorating design thread that directly correlates to food and drink.
I'll allow it.

I thought this is where the kitchen talk went.

Plus, I assume one would be drinking significant amounts of beer either while doing the work or watching a crew do it.

It is. Darla's been showing off her badass kitchen for the last month.
She's prolly in decorater mode, and will be more help.

go with something similar to this. Your flooring is light enough to make it work. Don't go too dark on the gray walls and you should be alright.

His walls aren´t grey. They are a beigey putty with a tinge of orange.
Given the rampant grain on the wood, I take it they´re either pine or some foreign wood.
I´d put a patina/antique them.

He said walls would be medium gray soon.
Correction, might be medium gray.

I think I´d try light mint walls, and a cold beigey patina on that wood (that has some jade and a slightly less than charcoal going on in it).
The countertops already are quite dark (and a blackish greenish hue methinks).
Still, not so sure of my suggestion (the floors don´t look to be too amenable to my color scheme).

I see a green tint in the countertops too, my wife does not
I would love to change the granite but the budget will not allow. We close on this house in about 19 days and the first thing to fix will be the paint scheme.
Net and other wood comments, I am not sure if they are real wood, although I assume so.
Geaux2hell, that looks awesome. I am liking the idea of a darker stain.
Wall color is not set in stone, we have just talked about doing a light gray in the living room and transition to a shade darker into the kitchen.

I'd would honestly paint them white as I'm not that much of a fan of dark stain
a piece here and there is fine, but an entire kitchen is too much IMO, although the area looks like it has enough natural light to handle the dark cabinets without making the room feel darker
and you are going to have to remove all the knobs and hinges anyways if you are going to do it right, you will still need to sand off the clear coat if you are going to restain

Nothing dates as quickly as cabinetry style....those light oak finishes scream 1989. I'm so not a fan of the current trend of dark finishes, as they hide dirt (you don't want to hide dirt in a kitchen, you want it to be obvious so you can keep it clean). Don't pick the wall color until you decide what to do with the cabinets.
I'd go with a light color, glazed so it isn't so flat. Several shades lighter than the wall color, with a white or beigey glaze for depth.
Or, keep the cabinet boxes and get new doors.
