Well, then ask them. Post a comment in the WAFB fb article or on the guys page.

That FB page is tacky and pathetic .. A bunch of classless people that can't even bother to mention the poor child in their post .. FB is just nothing but fast friends that can't grasp the magnitude of a situation out of vanity .. sad ..

I tried on his page, and couldn't.
Then again, my FB skills aren't much.

You have seat belt laws, but not laws on this stuff.

I stopped counting .. It's disgusting .. of the last 80 posts on his page .. 7 offer kind words to "all involved" .. Just one even mentions the child specifically .. and that is the one that posted his pic and link to the gofundme.com page ..

What exactly they're praying for? Really? I would guess they are praying for comfort during one of the most stressfull times of their lives.

So trashy to posting on Facebook right after this boy died under his watch
...I can't even fathom the lack of self awareness

I just saw on the news that he's bonded out on $100k bond. I wonder if he'll make more FB post this evening.

This wasn't an atv from what I read. It was a 4 seater ranger. Which does have seatbelts and doors. People take them off, but if you have kids on there, they should be on.

Thanks for your guess. You're probably right. Most of them just aren't saying.
They could be praying for the kid's family members, or they could be praying that Mr. Tharpe doesn't spend too much time in the pen.
He sure seems to have a large following of the praying type. I wonder if this a church function of some type?

I think that's an important fact.
To say someone got tossed and killed from a 4 wheeler isn't that hard to understand.
To truly appreciate how irresponsible this was, people should know what type of atv this was. No one should ever have allowed a child, or adult, to be anywhere other than in a seat and buckled. That's probably written in bold print somewhere on the atv.

Idk, it kind of goes both ways. Yes the kid should have been buckled, and the cages/doors should have been attached. But a 4seater ranger is a lot heavier and has a lower center of gravity, also a lot harder to whip around and do donuts, and so generally thought of as safer, and not that easy to flip. My bet is that if this guy was sober he wasn't accounting for the sand not reacting the way the mud would, sand, especially wet sand has a much harder bite to it, depending on whether it was lifted and what kind of tires it had on it, this could quite possibly be an accident, though one that could have possibly been prevented. Everything really probably depends at this point on how sober the driver was. Either way, it's important to know the bike you're riding and the terrain you're riding on before you start pushing the limits.

This was without question an accident and all accidents could be prevented. All it takes is one second of being distracted. The little girl that pulled out in front of the dump truck by my house a couple of days ago just wasn't paying attention.

Kid in my brother's year during high school was a few months short of graduation. The kid and his friends took out atvs like they usually did to ride some dirt mounds related to subdivision construction near a wooded area. Between one weekend and the next, construction had removed half the mound. Kid goes up one side not knowing other side is gone, head is crushed when atv falls on him.

Hopefully, if the mother and dad work, they will be able to take more time off then any company usually gives for the loss of an immediate relative. It's usually one day, LOL! I returned to work 5 days after my son's death. It was very, very hard. I'm not even sure how competent I really was for the first two,or three years after his death. Took me about eight years to come to terms with his death and even now, 11 years later, some days are still very hard to get through.

Can anyone give a good reason why he would be charged with vehicular homicide if he wasn't suspected of being intoxicated? From what I read that is one of the key factors of bringing that charge on someone
