that doesn't involve assaulting people.
right
nobody is saying they have the right to assault anyone
these situations are always funny to me
the flag burners just crave attention, so they burn a flag in public, then the idiot bikers fall for it everytime and give them the attention that they so crave
if nobody gave them the attention, it would just be 10 liberal arts students standing around a burning flag looking around for someone to be offended, but if no one gave them the attention, they would just go away

Sounds like UC Berkeley on an average Tuesday

Exactly what i said. The flag shouldn't be held as a symbol of genocide for something that happened however long ago. I doubt the native americans are sitting on their reservations saying, "damn, i wish that flag wouldn't remind me of the genocide of my people." It's hipsters and people who think they're making a difference by disrespecting people who like to coin shite like that.
It's like saying my family member died in a car wreck, all car wrecks are now symbols of murder and hatred towards my family.
ETA: would to wouldn't

the bikers do not have a right to attack and physically assault people for protesting.
Who assaulted anybody, all they did was tell them what the consequences of their actions would be.

But that has nothing to do with the first amendment.

I think burning the flag is stupid, but it's still their right.
the best the everyone could have done was ignore them. they just want attention for their cause.
guess what? they just got national attention thanks to the bikers
This is a fine example of what's wrong in this country. Too many people want to keep their heads down and ignore what's going on around them and hope it all just goes away. There comes a time when if something you love is under assault you've got to stand up for what you believe in.

sounds like a pretty blatant threat, no?
either way these people remind me of the knuckledraggers who get triggered by the westboro baptist church. just ignore them, you're giving them exactly what they want: attention to their cause.

burning the flag is protected free speech. what are they going to do? beat them up?
yeah, that'll show them! idiots

That still wouldn't make the flag a symbol of genocide. I mean that was like 2-300 years ago.
I'm not going to let this one go unnoticed..

assaulting people.
Has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment. The First Amendment deals SOLELY with government attempting to block speech, not the general public trying to out-shout each other nor any assaults that might occur during such an event.

there also comes a point where you have to have simple awareness and think "look...these kids just want attention, how about we not give them that attention"

the bikers have just as much right to counter protest the protest of the flag burners.

Correct, and if they punch one another that's not a violation of anyone's 1st Amendment rights because neither side is a government entity. It's just regular old assault & battery.

my point is the hypocrisy of people who only support free speech when they agree with it.

So the classic definition of ´biker´, AKA Hell´s Angels, is not what we´re talking about, correct?

Flag burning has been going on since Korean War.
Country is still here.

It's not just the flag burning. It's the whole "SJW" PC bullshite that goes with it.

because frick the 1st amendment, right?
The first amendment guarantees speech free of harassment or abuse from the government and it's agents, it does not protect against receiving a beat-down for making poor decisions.
