the clippers could be in a very precarious situation if Jordan leaves

LAC used bi-annual on Farmar last year who was eventually waived. So if DeAndre walks, LAC left with $2.1m of ML and minimums for the roster

They might be desperate enough to bring Rivers back.

Any word on MLE, BLE, DC or Cole?

The numbers say we aren't likely to be using the BAE at all. We'll probably split the MLE, I think MM said we were looking at using a portion of it on DC. No word on Cole other than us speculating on ways to S&T him.

@cheddachaz - Pretty quiet as far as who #Pelicans can get for MLE/BAE. Focus now is getting Cole/Cunningham back & likely Babbitt.

The fact that we seemingly don't have any desire to upgrade at wing is extremely disappointing.
Using the MLE to bring back the same players as last year and then signing some minimum guys is a fail.
I'll wait and see but that's a little bit of a bummer.

The Bird Writes was predicting for Ajinca to be a Tax Casualty back when the season ended. Deciding to keep him changed where the money could go. We'll see how much money Gerald Green gets. He's really the only guy I would have cared to spend the full MLE on.
Also, this could signal they want to keep their flexibility open to go after someone like KD. The shite is bound to hit the fan in Sac sooner or later too.

i really don't mind it. this team was doing well at the end of last season. an upgrade at the 3 would be nice, but there aren't many out there.

I agree, but the chance to do that was before this summer. Too late now. I think Ajinca became a reality when they realized the MLE wouldn't get them even a guy like Aminu on the wing.
Rolling w/ the wings they've had the past 3 years is the problem to me. Not like there were great options, but there were other guys available.

Why do the upgrades have to happen NOW?
We didn't upgrade last summer, but upgraded over the season when better opportunities presented themselves (Q-Pon, Cole, DC)
The Rockets did something similar (Brewer, Smith)
It's always about now, now, now! Sometimes the better value comes later.

Part of me thinks waiting for Batum makes sense, but there will be fewer SFs on the market next year, so how much money is Batum going to get?

Yeah. I just want some new blood on the wing.
I find the strategy of just bringing back the exact same roster to be bizarre.

Why shouldn't they?
And no, they don't have to happen now.
But going into training camp with the exact same roster is pretty disappointing and a lack of a plan.

Hawks added Thabo, Warriors added Livingston. Not exactly earth shaking moves. They exploded last year. And again, even if we go into the season with the same exact roster plus one or two small additions (which has to happen per roster minimum) the Pels will have plenty of flexibility to make an in season move.
The goal is to try and have your roster ready to go in April 2016, not July 2015

Somebody has been reading Fletcher Mackel.
Show me your evidence they have no plan. Heck, show me the evidence that they will have the same exact roster.
It's July 3rd!!!

Yeah. The market for 3 and D has exploded. Secret is out.
I will say that if Q plays like he did here, he is a hell of a find.
