Watching videos from 2007-2011 every commentator use to go on and on about LSU having 8 guys that could play on the line and not miss a beat. This is the most exciting part of it all. I'm a firm believer that your offensive and defensive lines win you most games. With coach O, were gonna regain that reputation of a nasty D line.

Totally agree. And some on this board were vehemently against the hiring of Coach O... i wonder if those who were opposed will admit their transgressions and be man enough to admit it.

I for one, have always wanted Coach O to come here because I knew he would be a valuable asset to not only the team, but also to recruiting the best young men to LSU...it seems I have been proven right

Agree and actually think it will be even better than back then really. He's going after the best of the best OOS and keeping our best instate guys here. Already have a great one for 2017 and the #1 DT for 2016 I think will play for Coach O and the Tigers. It's also the best Linbackers I've seen recruited here or at least we are after and they are seriously looking our way. This is just on name and reputation alone. Once it develops on the field recruiting can get even better! That has to be pretty scary for the rest of the SEC, they better hope we don't gain much more momentum. But coach O and steel were brought here to bring in the best of the best. Or as some would say bama type defensive talent. Get our D fielding and playing top notch and the rest will follow. The Purple Steel Curtain....

I think coach O will bring and coach up tons of talent. The only concern I have is that he will get another big time DC or HC offer sooner rather than later.

I agree with the OP. Coach O seems to have brought with him an intensity that we have not shown on D for a while. We have been good perhaps even great on defense, but we are no longer feared. I'm hoping that returns, and it starts with the big boys up front. I can't even watch the videos of Coach O at practice, be I get too fired up.

Depth would be great but I would be happy if we just got energy on the DL back.

We need a rotation like we had in 05-07 and other years around that time.

I agree, for years only Alabama and Florida could rival LSU in its depth. Ole Miss, Miss St., TAM, etc. still can't match it, but Auburn and Georgia to a certain extent have built up enough depth with their recruiting classes.
