the difference between CPMs last 5 years and Smokes last 5 years is that, he is trending upwards. Smoke trended downwards. CPM is going no-where for a while. Especially if he continues to put together Top 5 recruiting classes, top 8 seeds and Omaha appearances.

The only thing that i disagree with you with is that Omaha appearances should not be the bar. The bar should be winning games in Omaha. Obviously you are not going win it all every year or even every other year but LSU has more resources, investment and fan interest in baseball than any other team in the country. Not winning a game in Omaha since 2009 is not acceptable.

No, he's not. It's CWS one year (win the NC!), lose in a regional the next, miss the tournament altogether one year, then lose in a super, make the CWS again (2&Q), then lose in a regional again. Make the CWS again, another 2&Q. In the last seven seasons, he's finished as national champion and out of the NCAA tournament and literally everywhere in between. That's not trending anywhere, and if it were, it's not upward given that the high point is at the beginning.

What the hell good does it do to be a high seed if we fail every singe year to finish as high as we're seeded? Or to have top 5 recruiting classes if they don't perform to that level? Omaha appearances are cool, I guess, but two trips in six years with zero wins is hardly going to blow anyone away.
