Man, this thread is bringing back memories and the excitement I had as a child for the tooth fairy, Santa, the Easter bunny, and so on. It was a special thing being innocent, wondrous and actually believing magic and fairy tales exist. Being an adult is awesome as shite but sometimes in moments like these, I wish I could be a kid again and just believe.

Why even give money, or create the idea of a tooth fairy? My folks never made me believe in that, Santa, the Easter Bunny, etc., It makes no sense to me.

I always gave whatever change I had in my pocket, usually right under a buck. But I'm not a huge fan of these traditions or children in general, so take that for what it's worth.

I got a silver dollar the night before my first holy communion. The rest of the time 2 quarters.

The ones in here giving a 20 dollar bill are faking OT ballers or plain stupid spoilers.

We give the kids $2 bills. Just the right amount of money, and a little special because it's different and rare.

5 for a bottom tooth, 10 for a top; at least that's what our son told us. I guess that information get spread freely on the playground.

I’ll never forget telling my dad that the Tooth Fairy forgot to bring me money, then watch him crudely try to “search for the money” under the pillow and dropping a $5 bill. I am a little kid, not blind. That was the day I realized my dad was the Tooth Fairy.

Follow Spankum's advice, but key him know it comes from you and Mom. Don't fill him with fairy tales. Just reward him for a milestone, and it will be you building a bond with your kid.

We don't believe in teaching our children witchcraft, and don't let our children associate with kids who grow up believing in the promotion of Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy as substitutes for following the Word of Christ.

Mine just lost his first tooth and I gave him $5. I was told by his mother to give him a $20 since it was his first tooth. I told her she's out of her mind. I used to get a quarter.
