It's called Ka Lae. Did you jump off the cliffs on the west side of the point?

Negative, the weather was thumping!

The skeletons of the Siemens wind turbines frozen facing all different directions along the way was surreal.

I thought of that when I posted, the only Embassy I've ever been to is the U.K.'s in Tokyo. I was jogging around the perimeter of the Imperial Palace and met a bird who worked there.

I've seen our Embassies in many countries, but never had cause to go in. It is cool to see Old Glory flying over London, Paris, San Jose, etc.

--------------------------------------------------------

In the mid/late 90s, I was on a MSY/DFW/PDX flight. It was in early August and jungle hot in N.O. It was even worse in TX. They'd gone 9 or 10 days or something with temps over 100 and it hadn't rained in a month.
As we approached PDX, the pilot gave us the local weather report: 56 degrees and light rain. The entire cabin erupted in applause!

Portland is a cool town. Enjoy your visit!
