You fight everything from animals to ghosts to demons to humans and beyond, like griffins.
The combat is challenging on hard, especially if you are facing many opponents at once.
Each enemy has their own weakness and tactics.

I'm thinking about upping the difficulty to second hardest. The only time I lose a fight is if I decide to be adventurous and take on a high-level enemy with a skull icon.

I'm on the 2nd highest difficulty. Meditation doesn't heal you and I can still get raped by 4-5 drowners at level 8 if I am not careful. Nekkers are a problem since they swarm.
I've really had to learn the weaknesses of enemies and rely heavily on magic.

Has anyone here put many points into the alchemy skill tree?
Posted on 6/2/15 at 5:25 pm to sbr2
I haven't done any. I did all 5 quick attacks, 2 strong attacks, 1 parry, 3 in quen for shielding, and 1 to get 500 health.

I'm lvl 16 and haven't dedicated any lol. I've focused more on my attacking, Igni and the mind reading magic. I also bought the perk that gives more vitality and allows you to regain it during the day and regain stamina at night.

I did. I've maxed out oils, bomb making, and halfway through the tolerance levels.

Bless you. I've ignored the alchemy skill tree in all three games.

This is the best perk imo.
Sucks running across the map only to die because you forgot to meditate.

Level 25 currently and I have spent zero points on alchemy. All but 3 of my traits are sign related. My firestream is lethal.

On harder difficulties, meditation doesn't heal you.

Seems like I can manage well enough with White Raffard's decoction.

Has anyone done the troll riddle yet?

So I've been hit with the XP bug. Completely Broken Flowers and got no XP for it. Apparently you're supposed to get 800. Supposed to have been patched today, maybe tomorrow.
Kind of annoyed. I'm wondering how much other XP I've missed without realizing it.

I'm loving this game so far. First new video game since Titanfall that I've actually kept going with, and I love that after hours of slaying monsters I can divert by playing Gwent, horse racing, etc. So I never get bored.
The one gripe I have /improvement would be that for your destinations (either marked beacons or quest destinations) to actually give some guidance in the main screen. I often find myself looking at the hud map and tracking my way to my destination there, when I'd rather be able to keep my eyes on Geralt, Roach, and the beautiful scenery. Am I missing something here or are there not any visual cues besides the mini map to get you to a destination? For such an awesome looking open world I would hate to keep my eyes on the 2d mini map for the rest of the game.

Yeah I kinda thought the saem thing while playing yesterday. I find myself looking at the minimap so much that I rarely enjoy the scenery.

Yeah I wish they would put the pat to your selected green marker rather than whichever quest you are on. Sometimes I don't wanna continue on the quest right away and want to do other things

If I leave Skellige to go back to vizima for the first time, will I miss out on any quests?
Posted on 6/3/15 at 8:18 am to BulldogXero
Yennefer has a quest that will autofail if you do that.
