So tow trucks can tow them? I just watched them do it. The scum of the fricking earth is raking up on people for Jazz Fest.

Straight to TD without a video.

How did they break in? Like break windows? You can tow a car without breaking into it.

I don't get your thread. Why would you need to break in to tow it?

NO ! But was the car illegally parked ?
ETA, were the front tires turned ? Is that why they broke in ?

What is the race of the vehicle owner? That is the real question.

Why would you need to get inside a car to tow it?

They do it to release the parking brake because too lazy to do it the correct way.

From where are they towing?

They were breaking in with a wedge and a hook. Mid City New Orleans. Unfortunately, no video

What's the correct way to release the brake? I've always wondered how they did that.

I'd say entering the car, releasing the brake, and shifting it into neutral would be better than disconnecting it underneath.
Dollies and a rollback would be even better.

yes. They can and do use slim jims to get into cars to "safely tow" them.
I hate them too. But now I only park in lots, never on the street unless I'm working residential.

There are ways to park a car to where it's very very hard to tow.
Wheels at full lock, parking brake on, etc.

usually they don't they just drag the shite out of it.
I got towed by Riverside in 2005, the next fricking day my wheel broke off at the drum. I feel like they damaged it.
I had them on film ripping the front bumper off of a camaro as well. Most tow operators are scummy.
Except for Big Lee, he is cool and well priced.

The city of new Orleans ripped the front bumper off my Camaro. I filed a claim against them, and they paid for my damages.

They would use a dolly under the locked wheels. Parking brake never needs to be released.
