I can't help but feel like the grayscale plays a bigger part than that with the emphasis they've put on it in multiple seasons. Even more so just a device for Tyrion or Jorah to catch it.
All I know is there is some subtle deviousness when Mel talked Queen 'Stache out of dismissing Shireen because of the "king's blood flowing through her veins" with a little *wink wink, nod nod*.

as awesome as that scene was, I can't help but be reminded of this scene from arrested development with Stannis' delayed reaction:

Shireen is so badass she'd make a bawlin queen.

she is definitely one of the characters who are way better in the show than in the books.

The rumor is Jorah but it could possibly be tyrion or no one.
Not really sure.
Not really sure.

I think Jorah takes Barristan's place fighting in the fighting pits as well. Although Barristan vs Khrazz is one of my favorite moments in the books, I think Jorah would be good in that role on the show.
i could totally see jorah delivering the "I would shatter it"

Same here . I always knew that at some point D&D would start laying it on thick with the R+L=J. When they showed the scene from the pilot episode in the "previously on" segment, I immediately knew we'd be getting some heavy hints dropped in E4.

I think Jorah gets the grayscale pulling Tyrion out of the water in the next episode.
It would make sense. They've already diced up Griff/Young Griff and the whole crew of the Shy Maid, and even Ilyrio's return was replaced by, primarily, Varys. If anybody gets it, I would bet on Jorah.
Looks economical, more than anything - they never had Strong Belwas, Selmy's gone, apparently. Now it will be down to Tyrion, Jorah, ole girl, Dhario and Grey Worm with Dany.

quote:I could see that. I also expect to see Jorah and Tyrion getting captured by the slavers as well. I don't think the show would be able to resist having Jorah enslaved, since he's a former slaver.
The rumor is Jorah
But, all of the slaves up to this point look like Obama, so who knows?

They look presidential?
What are trying to say blueboy?

Seriously, many of them have the same light skinned black guy look. Grey Worm, the guy who was killed by the harpy, the guy who was executed for killing the harpy. It's a weird pattern.

There's really no way LF should know. He was just a small boy at the time. But the show does whatever it wants so maybe he does in the show world
Honestly, it seems pretty ridiculous that anyone other than Howland Reed (and being generous, possibly his kids or Benjen Stark) would know. Maybe some people (or even a lot) suspect that Lyanna wasn't really abducted, and maybe a few people are skeptical that Ned Stark broke his vows, but it seems extremely unlikely anybody else has actually figured out Jon is a Targaryen. This isn't something that can be explained by 'little birds' or anything like that. Even Jon's family has absolutely no idea.

To be honest I find it hard to believe that no one else would have figured it out, particularly Tywin and Varys. Tywin is a shrewd and calculating man who didn't want to risk the Targaryens rising again after all he's done. I think he'd notice 3 of the Kingsguard being killed by honorable Ned Stark and his men and think there was something highly suspicious about it. The Kingsguard being there with Lyanna Stark instead of Viserys is a big red flag in all of this. Judging from the conversation Ned had with the Kingsguard, neither beat around the bush on what is up those stairs and Ned was clearly tipped off by someone on where they were and what he would find when he got there.
Varys though I don't think would have bought for an instant Ned's story, and think that Robert's comment with dragonspawn and Tywin's previous massacres as reasons for protecting Jon as his bastard.

I think they would believe that the Kingsguard was there to protect Rhaegar's "prize." That would make perfect sense to people who were led to believe she was abducted.

Ned knew where to find her. What makes you think he knew what he would find? I may just be forgetting something. While I don't disagree there are things that would probably raise eyebrows, it doesn't seem like anybody actually put the clues together. Otherwise, I think we would have heard some things about it by now.

Varys never struck me as someone who could figure things out like that. Maybe Tyrion, but not Varys. Varys's information comes from his spies. I really doubt any were a witness to what happened.

Tywin would know better than that though. The second Rhaegar and certainly Aerys died, they should have abandoned her for Viserys. Yes, the realm at large this explanation would suffice, but not for someone who probably knows quite a bit about the Kingsguard and is actively hunting Targaryens to make sure his own house doesn't fall doesn't strike me as a man who would overlook it.

The Tower of Joy:
quote:
“Ser Willem Darry is fled to Dragonstone, with your queen and Prince Viserys. I thought you might have sailed with him.”
“Ser Willem is a good man and true,” said Ser Oswell.
“But not of the Kingsguard,” Ser Gerold pointed out. “The Kingsguard does not flee.”
“Then or now,” said Ser Arthur. He donned his helm.
“We swore a vow,” explained old Ser Gerold.
They're clearly not beating around the bush on what Ned will find up those stairs. Plus Ned went there with his 7 most trusted men instead of an army. Ser Arthur had a sad smile on his face because he knew Ned was tipped off to him. I think it's none other than Ashara Dayne who did it since Willa is Jon Snow's wet nurse and more than one person pulled Ned off of Lyanna's body. If Ned simply thought Lyanna was there, he would have brought his army with him. Ned certainly knew he'd find his sister with Lyanna's child there with the remaining members of the Kingsguard.

Varys is very clever and doesn't let things like lust or tales cloud his judgement. I just think this is the type of story Varys would immediately see through. LF, while he may be the most intelligent character in the series (Aemon may be slightly more so), he wouldn't see through this due to his arrogance.

But that's even more suspicious. Why would he go there without his army behind his back? He went there with his most trusted men.

Back to the episode... Why was Jaime so full of shite with Bronn?!? and Bronn knew it. Bronn already knows Jaime is borderline worthless as a fighter, why not come clean on the stuff with Tyrion?
