There are countless athletes and celebrities who were well-liked who have gotten into legal trouble, and were scolded for it, but then it blows over and people like them again because they have a likeable personality.

It happens all the time. When people are likeable, people look past things they did.

When someone is unlikeable, they are never forgiven for their wrongs.


People used to fricking hate Mike Tyson. Then he does some Hangover movies, opens up about his life, does some theater work, and now people LOVE Mike Tyson. That's just one example in the sport of boxing.
