A running or balanced offense really only needs 2 - 3 WRs.
In the 80's NFL and college.

We have Clston, Toon, Morgan, Hill, & Watson. Choose 2 - 3 and we'll be fine.
Having faith of big production in 3 of those is really hard.

Tell that to Seattle.
Also forgot to put in Spiller in the mix.

- Seattle has a great defense which we don't have
- A better running back
- A QB who can keep plays alive long enough to let their crappy WRs get open
- Lost their last game because of their crappy receivers
- Just traded their 1st rder for our best receiving option

What does Seattle's defense have to do with a discussion of receiving threats?
Lynch may be better than Ingram or Spiller but I would rather both than an aging Rb that is not content in Seattle.
Brees can keep plays alive as long as Wilson when he has a good O-line and now he does.
Seattle loss their last game because of their crappy coaching decision, not their WRs.
Seattle got our best WR but we got their best lineman. Moot point.

Their offense has to do less to win games than ours.

You're talking about the O-line giving the QB time, not the QB keeping a play alive.

No it's not. They obviously didn't feel having average receivers was a good thing or they wouldn't have traded for Graham.

We'll be fine at WR when we take one with our next pick. Brees makes average WRs look great, and now that we have a great O-line and added Spiller, it will be that much easier for Brees to work with what he's got.

Sammie Coates? He's had the drops but he's big and physical. Who else is out there on the free agency market? I'm not too high on any receivers still on the board.

That description of Coates basically makes him sound like Toon. We already have that.

Washington State's Vince Mayle and GA Tech's Darren Waller are great sleepers for Rd. 5

Toon seemed to come on strong at the end of last year plus Spiller will be a big time receiving threat out of the backfield.
Posted on 5/2/15 at 9:29 am to Brettesaurus Rex
Yes they play RB, but Spiller and Ingram will combine for over 100 receptions.

So what you saying is we should trade Cooks and Colston and get a guard and another pass rusher... because Brees is so good he will make Tanner and Toon Pro Bowlers. .........

Ingram had 20+ last year so I can definitely see him and Spiller breaking 100 combined with PT and lame arse Cadet gone. Those snaps should have went to Ingram and Robinson.

Then go be a Seattle fan?

I think you guys don't seem to listen to what Payton and Loomis say about Toon. As much as you all hate him, they like him...a lot.
He's going to get a ton of playing time this year and will do well.
Morgan, if he keeps his head on straight, will be awesome.

they don't run a balanced attack they run a rush heavy attack
they also have a top 3 running back in the NFL, and one of the best running QBs in the league.
We have a guy who has never broken 1000 yards

Guys, I totally forgot we have Orson Charles. We're good.
Posted on 5/2/15 at 3:13 pm to SammyTiger
Spiller is not bad I've heard Nor Brees. Nor CSP.
09 WR's were world beaters I suppose?

I don't think Drew Brees is bad.
People are acting like all of a sudden we don't need WRs because we are a running team
We should not be a running team. I am totally down for 09 balanced, but we still need receivers.
