The famous 'Folsom point' arrowhead has been shown to have direct similarities to a European people's points (I think their name is 'Salutrians' but my memory fails)
Anyway, the area around Virginia has the most dense concentrations of the Folsom points but their record disappears completely around 12000 BC. (as I recall from a History Channel documentary several years ago.)
