This is Captain Phasma, and she’s an officer of the First Order (i.e., the Empire). Which would suggest that she’s a villain, except that some characters in this universe play hopscotch with the line between good and evil. Even Darth Vader started out as a Jedi knight, after all, and even Darth Vader found redemption shortly before his death.

The ship seen at the beginning of the trailer is a regular star destroyer. The one the Falcon flies into is different and resembles an overturned super star destroyer. They're clearly different ships.
And in ROTJ, Luke says when theyre on the imperial shuttle "Vader's on that ship" referring to the SSD. Han replies "Dont get jittery Luke, there are a lot of command ships."

I just love that everything GC is in, she's a total bad arse (unattractive one too)
but really, with long hair, makeup and a dress, she's got sex appeal...like George costanza, everyone wants to frick a giant just once.

You guys do realize that Adam Driver is actually considered a pretty good actor beyond Girls, right?

I'm fairly certain it wasn't a super star destroyer in the trailer. Looked like a regular one to me.
There is a SSD in the trailer. It's crashed and the Falcon flies through the engine at the 1:27 mark.

People need to realize that when Lucas made Star Wars he had no intention of the troopers being clones.
Clone Wars were mentioned in the first twenty minutes of the first star wars (IV)

Does this mean no Tattooine?
Kinda weird they'd create a new planet that looks identical to Tattooine.
what I never got, was why do Star Wars planets only ever have one climate.

"You served my father during the clone wars"
Could've been a war fought over cloned slave labor, against cloned monsters
Could've meant ANYTHING

For the purposes of rebel bases, it would make sense (hoth)
Tattooine is a desert planet, but it's considered some rock no one wants to be on (Mars is the same)
Endor pushes it, but it's a secret base. We don't know that degobah is all swamp. It just gets ridiculous in the prequels. We're going to have some diversity in topography it appears by looking at the shooting locations

Who says a regular SD can't be a command ship.
It's pretty clear from the visuals alone that super star destroyers, there Are not many

True.
I actually didn't hate the concept of clone troopers. I hated "midiclorian" the whole first movie, the waste of time in the second and how quick Anakin went from "IDK if I should help the Emperor or the Master Windu" to "Let's go kill a ton of helpless kids"
I would of started him as a teen and then trained him, had him show dark jedi traits but be a huge asset in the war, and turn after getting severely injured and using the dark side to stay alive.

honestly, is the empire really all that bad? going back to harry plinkett's point, if you were a regular guy, the rise and fall of the empire probably didnt' even fricking matter. you didn't need to enlist, the economy is kicking arse, everything still looks pristine. for some reason, I'm able to separate each movie as its own. so even though jedi isn't as good it doesn't ruin empire, or star wars, the prequels don't frick the OT so long as I have some avenue to watch the theatrical versions.
long story short: George's claim he came up with the whole thing in the 70s is bogus. he wrote star wars, some of the minor unused ideas made it to empire...according to everyone except lucasfilm

Bottom pic on the left - is that a SHE-3PO?

star trek is something to dork out for, all of this analysis of prequel to OT uniformity doesn't matter. the special editions with the prequel shite is George desperately trying to maintain the illusion he had it all planned from the start, while it really demonstrates the antithesis...it's all a bunch of fricking slop
empire...great
star wars...great
jedi...good
prequels...where's the anti freeze?
