Grab leg and slam head against edge of concrete slab is my go to method. Probably need to find a better surface. Cleaning the occasional blood specs can be a bitch.

hold em underwater, drown and purge em at the same time.

Nah, if they use a headlamp even a one handed man could catch some frogs

Two hands preferably...one for beer, one for gigging.

No gig, I put the beer down for the snatch. Does cause a lot of spilled beers.
Being the driver, cupholder on the grab bar is money though

3 guys: motor operator, q-beam guy, grabber. lots of beer and a gunny sack. steer clear of red eyes and snakes.

We just stick em in an old outdoor fridge in a tied sack overnight. Next morning they too cold to function . Hold back legs till frog is stiff and straight, lay on block of wood and cut head off with matchete.

So no one here uses one of those frogging nets?
I haven't been frogging in years but I have been told that they are game changers especially when in heavy brush areas.

They don't work worth a frick in thorns. Help if too far to grab.
But that's what we keep a gig in the boat for.

As others suggested shine light in their eyes to blind them and creep up on them catching it with your hands. IMO, halogen headlamps works better than the LED lights. The frogs I've caught usually has a blue tint in their eyes and white belly when the light is shine at them.

This, but can be reduced down to 2 with the motor opeartor running the Q-beam. 3 is perfect though for a frog gigging mission.

So the best place is a canal? I've got bayou manchac which I think is too big. And a little canal in the neighborhood
I've tried Bayou Manchac on three different occasions and there were hardly any frogs.
ETA: Just so you know, the season is closed every year for April and May.

That's the place to start. Ride around the country and look in the ditches. We've always frogged flooded rice fields and do very well. Shine bright light (Qbeam) in eyes, slow and steady walk up to them without making noise, ensure not a snake, extend hand until youre about 6" or so away, from behind is best if you can, and grab behind front legs and basically squeeze by what would be the armpits. Throw in burlap bag or crawfish sack, grab another beer, proceed...

I always have enough lights for everyone to have one, plus small lights to use when grabbing. When I drive I keep a q beam by me to use to spot frog when someone is going grab. Really doable with 2 people.
Need to buy a spotlight to mount to hard hat. for the driver. I think I'll get an LED.

Side of boat works well too.
