Paris or London which would you prefer to spend a couple of days in?

Looking at booking a 3 day trip to either Paris or London in July. Looking at Tripadvisor both have a lot of things that would interest me.
For those that have been to both (or one or the other) what can you tell me about your experiences?

3 days? That is a 5 day trip for me. That said, I enjoy London more.

Paris by a wide margin.

You can't do a trip to a foreign country for anything less than a week. Just not worth it, ISO.
Out of the two choices though, Scruffy would go with London. He has been to Paris, and it was the areas outside of Paris he liked more.
Never been to London.

I was in Europe for something else and went to London one weekend and Paris the next.
London was way better. Paris I didn't really like. My wife didn't either. Just wasn't as good.
We did go to the Normandy area for a few days and it was wonderful. I'd do it over again.
If you just have a few days try Amsterdam. I love The Netherlands as much as any place I've been. lots of fun and easy to get around.

I've been to both and enjoyed Paris more, though the people were pretty hostile to Americans. The Brits didn't love me either, however, and the food, drink and women were a lot better in Paris. Also, it's not quite as expensive as London.

Do you like the smell of BO and piss? If so, choose Paris.

Dude do you ever go on these trips? You seem to be always asking questions about this bad arse vacations.

Hard to choose. I'd say if you are a food lover, go to Paris.

Another great city to visit near Brussels and have some of the greatest beer is Mechelen. Drink some Carolus. LINK
As for London vs. Paris, London has much more to see and easy to visit and get around IMO, especially for Americans. I can't count how many times I've been to London as most of my business is conducted there.
You can't go wrong with either. My only advice is not to form your opinion on only one visit. You'd be surprised how you can easily change a negative opinion of a foreign city after a second visit!
Enjoy!!

London because they speak English, or at least I could understand them more than the Frenchies.
The food would be a lot better in France though

London was super expensive when I went there. It was really nice but kind of bland for such a major city. (not saying there isn't plenty of awesome stuff to see, just not as much as other major Euro cities I've been to) It was easy to get around and it was nice to be able to speak the language.
Paris was gorgeous architecturally wise and had amazing museums but the people tended to have less patience w/my lack of language skills compared to elsewhere in Europe. (this was right before we invaded Iraq so that may have been a big part of it) The biggest issue I had with Paris was it was really dirty. They were just spraying all the garbage on the streets into the sewers. The tour guide even pointed it out like it was a smart thing to do.
Anyway, both cities on the whole were great places to visit. If you speak enough French to ask for basic directions, I'd go to Paris. If you don't want to deal with the hassle of running into people that can't speak English, go to London.
Either way you will have a great time.

Parisans make it the worst. They all have a stick up their arse. City has a lot to see though.
London by far. Those old blokes have a randy good time
