No, they didn't sound normal. That's the point of my objection.

You see, if they had sounded normal we would have a better clue that they were modern people isolating themselves. Night might as well have made teepees with Native American accents and we could have thought we were watching a Western and it would have amounted to exactly the same trick. It was a massive cheat, rendering the final twist unworthy.

No that was actually one of the clues to the plot. It was a group of modern people trying to sound like an old dialect. This is why the accents and phrases were sometimes odd and inconsistent. I remember saying early on that the accents were terrible. Then I began to wonder if it was on purpose. I liked the movie.
