I think he leaves. He loses all of his leverage if he stays. I'd say Stevenson goes also.

It all depends where he goes I guess. He was supposed to get drafted last year but he didn't, I think he has more stock than Stevenson because his swing is a lot easier to work with but for some reason people are putting Stevenson way above laird.

Knowing his family and him personally, I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed.

we know he has speed and plays good defense....but I do not believe he is a mlb talent...Stevenson too. Flame away. Both will be career minors.

more tools, more athleticism. laird is a great college player but doesn't project well at the next level

Both are great college players who have no real chance to play in the show. If not destitute they should stay and enjoy their senior seasons. Minor league will get old very quick and that decent signing bonus will be long gone......

Nobody should flame you, because this is troof.

Stevensonis a little more athletic but laird defiantly has a better swing. He hits to all fields and makes more consistently hard contact than Stevenson.

Both are serious threats to go high in the draft. With all that being said the reason why they are at a risk to leave is on signing bonus leverage as a junior vs none as a senior.

Nope
Both will garner big time interest from major league clubs.
Edit: To expand on my point, as of today to say both are locks or even more likely to stay is just flat wrong.

I understand the leverage aspect, but neither are likely to ever reach the pros, and their signing bonus will have disappeared by the time they retire from minor league baseball. Shouldn't they just get a degree, play pro ball a few years, then come back here and find a job real easily?

Laird 50/50 imo
Stevenson will be drafted in the top 8 rounds and will go

This.
He will stay all 4 years at LSU.

If I had a penny for every player drafted out of HS or college that was selected in the top 20 rounds and never made it to an MLB roster...
Low balling a general bonus let's say in round 10...you go from negotiating let's say in a range of 100-150k as a junior to 10-30k as a senior. It's not much at all in the grand scheme of things but it does open up doors for people as well as leave the door open to finish a degree later in life.

This is the question only that player and direct family know. It should be commended for getting a degree and sticking around for an extra year to help win a national championship. All in all at the end of the day every player is different in the way they handle this.
