Best kind of dog food

We've been feeding our 5 year-old Boykin Spaniel Beneful dog food all her life. We've recently found that this brand of dog food may be unhealthy for dogs and are looking into alternatives.
Do any of you have a preferred brand of dog food that you feed your dog? I will do my own research, but there are so many choices, that I would like to see if the O-T can point me in the right direction.

There are a lot of higher end dog foods. Taste of the wild is an upgrade and less expensive than some of the others. Also happens to be really well liked by most dogs.

9 out of 10 dogs approve it

For those of you who made suggestions, why did you choose the dog food you're using?

My place is right next to Hill's here in Bowling Green and boy can it make you nauseated on a muggy day...

Cheap ol' Roy. My last dog was a hunting lab and lived to be 17. Don't believe the hype.

One of our labs will eat anything. The other is a picky eater and has some food allergies. We tried a lot of different brands, and Eukanuba is one he will eat-some brands of dog food he won't go near. Before him, I had never see a big working dog that was picky about food, but he is one. There are some other brands he likes, too, like Blue Buffalo, but Eukanuba is less expensive than some of the other specialty brands.

Ours eat Halo. We tried Blue Buffalo, but two of them kept picking the Life Source bits out and leaving them on the floor/patio.
We chose Halo (and tried Blue Buffalo) because we realized that their previous food was mostly filler. They were always hungry and we were constantly buying food. Now, the largest bag of Halo lasts for about a month and we are feeding three medium-sized dogs and one large dog.

I never had a problem with Purina Dog Chow.

We have been feeding our toy poodle Rachel Ray's Nutrish for years. We tried several brands and Nutrish was her favorite. Just recently found out that she is diabetic so I did a lot of research and started feeding her the Blue Buffalo grain free. She absolutely loves it and has great reviews!

4health dog food from Tractor Supply. I buy the beef and potato #30 bag for 37.99. Gets good ratings on the internet and is way cheaper than other comparable dog foods. Grain free. I have 6 dogs and they all do well on this food.
