I'm really surprised they've yet to remake The Last Starfighter
The guy that owns the rights won't let anyone do it. Spielberg and Seth Rogan have both tried but were denied.

"The Last Starfighter" for sure
The one that sticks with me is a live action & CGI version of the 80's transformers movie directed by someone like J.J. Abrams.
I would like to see faithful (but abridged) remakes of "The 10 Commandments", "Ben Hur", and "Exodus"

They already had those with his mentor, Michael Effing Bay - like 8 or 10 of them so far. Didn't you get the memo?

Yes, but those had no story, were super long, and Michael Bay'd to hell. I mean a faithful adaptation.

The Ian Fleming Bond movies. Do them in order of the books. Use all the original characters (male M, Q, Etc). And this time, follow the original story of each.
This could be interesting. Of course, in many cases the movies are much better than the books. Goldfinger is one of my favorite movies, but I didn't like the book much. Live and Let Die movie is better than the book as well.

the dino de laurentis Dune wasn't that bad, certainly better in many ways than the SciFi channels remake attempt. I thought he captured the horrific side of the Harkonens well, though Sting should have never been cast in that role.
If he had had the FX capability scify had it would have been a benchmark movie.

Ben Hur
or Spartacus
That "I love you Spartacus" scene would probably be different in today's environment.

Be careful what you wish for. You could wind up with all women ghostbusters, female ninja turtles, Shia labuff as Indiana jones, or total recall without Mars.
It's kind of a hold your breath and see what comes out on the other side.

I agree, I just feel with today's technology..it could actually help to serve the film better.
The worms, the shields in combat training (lol), just so much more double be done visually. I loved the atmosphere from the first film, and it's a favorite of mine. I would just love to see what I know can be done in that world.
Would be epic.

I thought they spruced up the story of Casino Royale enough to where it followed the book, but was interesting enough for a movie.
The older movies go in completely different directions from the book. Live and Let Die being one of them. I thought Moonraker book was much better than the movie.

"The Lords of Discipline". This needs to be a long-form miniseries on cable instead of trying to squeeze four years of plot into a two hour movie.

Some of the best movies ever made are remakes.
You really wanna be that they made the Judy Garland version of Wizard of Oz?
