re: Should Golfers be called athletes?

They certainly deserve to be called athletes before NASCAR drivers. How can drivers be credited for being great athletes when the cars do most of the work? It's the equivalent of being a jockey in horse racing. Nobody mentions Eddie Arcaro as one of the GOAT athletes and Jimmie Johnson doesn't belong on the list either.
