And how did that work out?

Instead we will be treated to another year of the second coming of JJ. Stacked boxes and a Dural or duck passing game churning out 90 yards week after week. Awesome.

Unfortunately for LSU and it's fans in football, it's good for about 3-4-5th place in the secw and another shitty arse bowl.

This nutless version of Les is a terrible coach that loses games. When he's the Mad Hatter and rolling the dice, LSU wins... A LOT... And can beat anyone in the nation.

Disagree. Jennings has shown all he has and there is no upside! Harris as of now, still hasn't been given a REAL opportunity, but even if he flops at first, I still think there is potential.

Wow...that makes zero sense. The term has nothing to do with the plays an offensive coordinator calls. It refers to the mentality of the QB to force throws into coverage and make plays that aren't there. Sometimes it pays off and you get the TD, others it results in a turnover.

Yeah. Why don't you post the records going back to 2005 and explain to everyone what happened all those years we didn't have 4-5 losses and who was the head coach during those years.

No one in college football would have described those two guys as gunslingers or having a gunslinger mentality.

I agree with you but that is who Miles is. What some people don't seem to understand is the decision to start Jennings this year was already determined last year by not playing Harris at all at the end of the season. I wish Miles would recruit exactly what he wants as a QB. Bye the time Miles molds Harris into what he wants he will be JLee, a gunslinger trying to be something he's not.

Here's a crazy stat: I would consider JR a "gunslinger" over Mauck and Flynn, but he never went over 10 int's in his 3 seasons (4,9,8). Mauck and Flynn had 14 and 11 their senior years, respectively.

There's avoiding unnecessary risk, and then there is completely neglecting an entire part of the field because it is a bit more "risky". LSU rarely tries to attack the intermediate-middle of the field in the passing game.

If you had a job that depended in a large part on the abilities of others to perform according to plan, how "terrified" would you be in trusting that job to someone who has shown that he can't be trusted to perform within the accepted guidelines?

I would make sure I found someone I trusted to handle executing the plan and then give them freedom to execute that plan

What is terrifying around here are the fan boys that have a personal rooting interest in one athlete over the good of the TEAM

I don't give a shite if the QB is Jennings, Harris or Mayor fricking McCheese. But whoever it is, give them a chance to succeed. Stop recruiting guys who don't seem to "fit" what you want to do. Watch most other college teams. Their offenses somehow find ways to get their WR open in space. On the other hand, to be the QB at LSU means you have to constantly stick passes into tight windows. You obviously saw something in these players to make an effort to get them to join your team. Either trust them, find someone who you do trust, or tailor your offense to fit what your QB does best.

you act like this is just a minor issue with Jennings.

yeah sure I agree he'd be really good if he could throw accurately at all....
