Take 20 extra minutes and drive to Madisonville and go to Keith Young's steak house.

Jacmel is the best restaurant in Hammond

Roux and Brew ~ $50 & they have raw oysters.
Jacmel's ~ $75 but no raw oysters but better food.

I have had the same experience as Spooky at Buddies, used to be really good and kinda slipped recently.

Shane's BBQ is pretty damn good
Also Hookd Up downtown has some good poboys/burgers and usually has decent live music

I have yet to have a decent meal at hooked up. Not to mention the absolute shite service. I'll take Mariners over that place any day.

I've lived in hammond for ten years now. All of the places listed prior are decent to good, but it is all relative to hammond
when we eat out we most often go to tacos and beer or lee's. When we want a good meal we go to Covington or new orleans

I'm no much of a picky eater but I liked their étouffée covered fried shrimp poboy, and I haven't had issue with their service yet
I've heard mariners is really good though, I'm about to try out all the places I always talked about trying since I've lived here bc I'm about to move

Tope La is much better IMO

I tried hooked up one time thinking, oh Hammond needs a good seafood restaurant. I was severely disappointed, Hammond didn't need another fried seafood and burger joint that is very meh.

Yes, but to me it's overpriced now.

Agreed. How do they even operate 5 plus locations?
Their bbq is substandard to say the least.

Ride to amite and hit up the boston
Posted on 3/29/15 at 11:34 am to KingRanch
The Boston is owned by the same people as trey Yuen and cate street seafood. In fact the Boston's menu is almost identical to cate st.
