People that get mad at you when you point out and correct their mistakes... Wtf

My clerk stapled all my reports for a meeting today as if the reports were in "portrait" when it's actually printed in "landscape". It's not rocket science that the report should flip from the top left in landscape and not the bottom left. And when I point it out, she gets pissed like I did something wrong...
Wtf?
Wtf?

You did when you hired an inept employee.

found your problem.
don't ever tell a woman she's wrong and expect it to go smoothly.

Ending your last sentence in ellipsis isn't correct punctuation. Are you remedial? Fix it.

Don't start a sentence with And.

I work a side job doing pre-employment screening for a manufacturer. One of the things we do is give them a fair sized dose of constructive criticism during the screening process - for no other reason than to see how they will react to it.
In my regular job, when conducting interviews, someone in the interview group will always find something the person said or something on their resume that could have been done differently and bring that up. Again, for no other reason than to see how they react.

It's sucks. It's my job to tell people when they are wrong. I know I'm hated throughout the company. I'm very nice about it . I show them proof why they are wrong . I'm still the a-hole?

Why do the people that work for you keep repeating mistakes?
Posted on 3/13/15 at 11:13 am to poochie
Shouldn't the staple be in the top left corner either way? That's my preference.

That is always funny. Reminds me of how people get pissed when they owe you money and you remind them you need it.

Fwiw, I'm fine with people pointing out my mistakes. It's makes me better.
Oh.
And....
Oh.
And....

People have gotten mad at me for telling them they have a cliffhanger flopping around in their nose. I'm like, "Wtf bitch? Jam that monster back in there for all I care. I'm just trying to be nice"

How did you deliver the news that she did it wrong? You should consider the personality of the individual and curtail your corrective measure to it.

Only time i've ever been formally written up (i'm 48 years old) at a job is when someone who works with me frickED UP every time we had a deploy and made roughly 100 people look bad each time.
i got sick of it and called her out because we had told her 'not to touch anything' yet each time she did.
i took away her access and was written up for (a) harrassing her by asking her in a meeting to admit what she did and (b) for taking away her access to the buttons she was mashing that was screwing up our code deploy.
lesson learned. i just kept my mouth shut after that and found a way to move to another team.

for us guys it's usually no big deal, but women...
it's not what you say but the way that you say it. that is important
[[ upon seeing the booboo....you could have said, oh, I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you I wanted the staples over here....or other similar ]] instead of whatever way you pointed out the booboo.
don't worry about it, most of us have a hard time figuring them out

Yes. ALWAYS.
It's basic human nature to react with anger when told that you are wrong.
Few people are able to rise above this basic human trait.
