I'm hearing $99.95. Most expensive Boxing PPV in history. Wonder what a ring side ticket will cost? Any guesses?

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. will face off at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The fight is expected to shatter PPV buy records and gross millions of dollars with the ticket prices ranging from $3,500 to $250,000 and the PPV is expected to cost US$89.95 for SD and US$99.95 for HD.

Wow,,,,, So you get 10 guys together and each pay $10. Good luck with that... I would have thought about it 5 years ago, but not now...............

The $250,000 does not get you a ringside ticket, it's the minimum line of credit you have to have at MGM and you have to gamble through the entire line once. The higher the amount, the closer your seat.

So with the price this high, will more people be doing this, affecting the amount of buys? Seems like Mayweather and Pac have done VERY well $$ wise their whole careers, so why not charge a little less and try to put the record sales out of reach? I don't know much about how many people actually order fights honestly.

I'm sure they have people making a lot more than the two of us figuring out the right price to maximize profit.
But yeah I really don't understand how these fights make so much. Maybe it's my generation, but everyone my age if they even give a frick streams online or goes out to a bar.

I'm sure restaurants and bars are the big customers for big ticket fights.

True I've read they charge bars obscene amounts to show them.

Don't they show these at Buffalo Wild Wings, places like that?

All I want to know is who PJ is predicting to win

Yeah, and big chains like that probably sign a contract for a large sum in order to play at all their locations. I worked in bars and restaurants for about 10 years, but no chains, and I don't remember any of them ever showing any UFC or boxing. Every time it was brought up, it always "costs too much." I do know they charge these places by the amount of people you can fit for viewing. I wonder what they charge per head...

they do, sometimes in the thousands bc its based on the tv's they have and the potential amount of people will watch
same with UCF fights
thats why lots of bars and sports bars charge a cover for fight nights

Whoever pj predicts you always pick opposite of him. It works at least 90% of the time

I went to Mayweather v. Maidana back in May at a bar that is pretty big for boxing/UFC and they surprisingly didn't charge a cover. I wonder if they will for this
