So is it to late to spray some Atrazine to kill the poa?

What do you guys think about the importance of sprinkler systems?

Still early on fertilizer in my opinion. Usually late April early May.
Masons sand (think golf course), the kind the brick layers use is mostly weed free and will help with the unevenness, but you don't want to pile it where the grass can't grow. So start thin and gradually build it up.

Depends on where you live. Probably not needed in South Louisiana...

Not too late, but not really necessary heat will kill it off... It's better in the fall to prevent it from coming up all together, and simazine (another triazine) for clover.

I kind of manufacture triazines for a living.... So the use and application becomes far more interesting than the chemical reactions.

I'm pretty sure Crabgrass has completely taken over my front and backyards, judging by it's purplish root.. Cut it last week and it was already 4-6 inches high in some places within a couple days.
Front yard it's probably taken over 40 % and backyard 90%.. I've done a lot of research and it just doesn't seem like it's salvageable at this point??

What type of lawn grass do you have?

How long does atrazine take to work? I sprayed last Sunday and all weeds look healthy as ever.
Exact time I did mine. I got the Image with atrazine and haven't noticed anything yet either but reading online it says it can take up to four weeks for you to see the full effect.

Has it rained since you sprayed it? I believe Atrazine has to have a rain on it to be incorporated. It's used more as a residual in the row crop world.

I always use at least a 2 & 2 method. I don't mow 2 days prior, or after, a pesticide application.
I like that, what's your method on fertilizer.

when I finished spraying there was several hours of good sunlight but cooler temps.
It rained hard 24 plus hours after spraying. And then temps dropped.
This week after temps got in the 70s and sun peeked out weeds are dying good. In back yard where there is less sun, the weeds still look healthy. POA and henbit were first to go. And others including wild geranium and clover show very little change. If no kill off in next 2 weeks those will get 24d.

Atrazine isn't effective on clovers. Simazine is but it's kind of slow like atrazine and better as a pre-emergent. 2-4-D will take it out though.

Depends on what I'm putting down. I mainly use specially formulated fertilizers from Regal Chemical Co. They're very controlled release, and are broken down/released by microbial activity. Rain, irrigation, and mowing really don't affect those. If I want to boost the fields to a darker shade of green, I'll use a fast release nitrogen source like urea and water it in that night

good to know. The bottle said it would kill clovers. I will try to treat with 24d this weekend then, or maybe mow Friday and treat later in the week.
will atrazine kill that little burr plant I posted?

I've got a few spots I want to put down Bermuda seed. But I just sprayed some 'weed b gone for lawns'.
How long should I wait before seeding?

Taking the season off, not mowing, weed eating, gardening, none of it, let it grow, 70's style

If you're buying bagged seeds it usually says on the bag how long to wait after apply herbicides. 4 weeks should be plenty though
