He averages around 12 points, 6 or 7 rebound, and a couple assists for his career. How is that special?

Batum
Josh Smith
Draymond Green

Can be added to tier 2 also.

Mostly the 4 with the Rockets. Deserves mentioning though for his standout play since joining HOU.

Carmelo is known as the best at getting off/creating and making any shot. Even the elite guys (KD and LeBron) will, and have, admit he is the best pure scorer.

Also, I would take Leonard over Melo on my team bc he is a better team player and if his shot isn't going he can at least play shut down defense. But being a better team player =/= better basketball player

Guess that's why everyone was throwing blank checks at him 6 months ago

He's injured, at this very moment, but he's still in his prime.

did you just list the Pels as a contender?

sort of. Just threw Davis' name in there because I thought they were going to make the playoffs until he hurt his shoulder.
if you are in, you can win.

the premise would be that the top tier teams have injured stars come playoff time.

as things stand, not. He was fabulous for a while there.

Brief shining star.

Agree with that... maybe slowing down due to injury but dude is still an amazing scorer.

Yes, give me the guy who can still help the team in more than one way.

I don't think KD is saying that melo is the best pure scorer.
