If you do marry her you will soon get to see what is behind Divorce Door #3. Can't you tell this is how her previous divorces started? She's asking for something irrational out of the blue.
It doesn't matter what you do now:
If you give in to her "proposal" (you lose, it clearly isn't your idea and your heart isn't in it) and you are the subordinate partner
or
Denying her the marriage (again, you lose because she'll hold it against you)
Prepare for life after her.
Sorry for you, maybe you can find better women to associate with next time before picking a house mate.

Agree. I think she realizes her past relationship failures and that not being married now makes things look worse. She assumes getting married again tends to right the wrong from her past which is illogical as hell.

Very important. Along with the other 2/3 of that list.

Strict catholic. Two divorces. Living out of wedlock for 4 years..
Did she get ashes today... On her chest? I mean why get that right too?

This is why I love the OT.

Have either of your previous marriages been annulled by the Catholic Church?

I am no lawyer, but I believe that if you have been living together for 4 years, you are basically already "married"...
honestly, I know you are kinda gun shy from your past experiences, but given your circumstances, if you don't feel like you could get married to her now, there is really no point in staying together...
I am curious as to why you are hesitant...scared that simply signing the doccument will somehow ruin your relationship?...

Go based on upvotes or downvotes. Let the OT decide.

A strict Catholic doesn't get divorced. A good example? She's already been divorced twice that ships long since sailed.
I agree with this.

I'm not catholic so no my marriages were not annulled. Not sure about hers. Never asked, never really mattered to me.
She is not putting pressure on the situation, not an ultimatum. It's her preference but not a deal breaker...for now.

Made me remember something I forgot to ask earlier, How young were each of you when you got married and had kids the first time?

Stringent prenup.. The decision is ultimately one weighed on the scale of consequences versus acceptable outcomes..

I was married at 23, first child at 25.

Well you can tell her your marriage won't be recognized until all of them are annulled
So what's the point. And it's a few thousand dollars. Probably each. And more in y'alls case
