You seem a little hostile man. I was just trying to save your neck muscles. If you're the kind to like sitting in the front row of a theater then by all means, have at it. You need a pretty large sized room to pull it off at that height. If you had that much room I'm guessing you'd have other mounting spots probably that would be more ergonomic and enjoyable.
I'm just a hostile guy sometimes. Sorry! The room is pretty large and I have a reclining sofa and reclining love seat along the other walls that are about 12-15 feet away from Where the TV will be. The problem is that one of the walls has a row of windows so I can't use it, there is an open area into my foyer where another wall would be, then there is the wall with a fire place right in the middle, and finally the only other viable wall is where we have the love seat and if we use that wall then I would have a problem with furniture configuration.

Nobody is going to run the power cord in the wall because its not up to code.
Which is why you just create a new outlet like my dad and I did directly behind the TV.

I had the exact same problem. Windows on only legit wall far left and small corner bookshelf on one side that would hold like a 40 inch but I'm a baller and can't do anything less than 60. Open floor plan houses rarely have that ideal large wall to place a man TV.

Find one of these plates at Home Depot or Lowes and do this (except for a mantle). It's crazy easy. I've done it to 3 houses.
Below are even some instructions on how to hide power and hdmi.

You can also tilt the TV down with the mount and it's fine.
Tilt it all you want, that doesn't change the height.

You can tilt a TV.

and it is cliche as frick.
Compared to what? There aren't too many places that you can put a TV that aren't "cliche".

I've got pretty much this exact setup. I've got the windows cut in the wall like this, with the plastic fixtures to pull the wires through, but they didn't put a socket there. I have to run the power cord through the wall just like the A/V cables. I'm reading that's actually against code, but I can't really see what problems it would cause. The cord is either hanging on the inside of the drywall or the outside. And it's not like Romex has that much more protection from nails and such than the regular cord.

Do not run cords thru the wall - Not code compliant.
good luck if you have a brick fireplace

Thats exactly the type of outlet behind the tv in pic except mine is vertical. Drilled hole through bookshelf into fireplace and ran hdmi, rca for cox box and dvd/game console. The trick is mount your bracket first then etch your outlet out and cut with drywall keyhole saw after so your outlet is in the best spot and can be covered but not blocked by tv. The rest of the "Smart" TV functionality is wireless so no need for anything else. Mine is actually to code because I drilled holes through the header and stapled romex with mounted gang box behind outlet.

I realize having the cord in the wall is against code, but what are the actual dangers? I just don't see how it is different tan being behind a TV console with all the wires bundled up between the console and the wall.

because your insulation and other in-wall materials aren't on the outside of your wall.
quote:
ROMEX wire is protected by 2 layers of insulation, with each individual conductor being insulated and the entire bundle also being insulated. This makes insulation failure a rare occurrence and reduces the risk of accidental electrocution and arcing. The plastic used is resistant to moisture and microbes, and is very durable. The plastic sheathing also has a very high melting point thus is heat and flame resistant.

Tilting it does change the angle at which you view the screen, but it does nothing to the angle at which you must look up to see the TV.
Hell, you could put the TV on the ceiling and have it tilted down at you, but you'd still have to look up to see it.
