I preordered The Witcher 3 because it was $10 off and it's one of my most anticipated games. Does it count if it's a deal on a game you know you're getting anyway?

What's the story with this? I'd heard they were promising no pay-to-win, not that there'd be no microtransactions at all. Not very familiar with this game though.

I haven't preordered a game since Dragon Age II and haven't bought an early access title in almost a year... I was wondering when more people would revolt against these systems

They ended up including pay to win microtransactions. You can buy crate drops that have guns and ammo and other things inside of them. I think SOE was quoted as early as 3 days ago confirming there would be no pay to win in the game.

Only Pre-Order console games... from Nintendo
The last 3 games I've pre-ordered has been Nintendo. It's nice to have complete games at launch. Now they do DLC and do it right.

Thought it was r/gaming that started it.

Yeah, Destiny was the last preorder I've done. Never again.

The major part of the game is to find food, guns, etc
being able to buy it completely takes a shite on the game and it's predecessors.
World Of tank, you buy gold to get more exp, or a nice tank, but you do not have to buy it to survive in a battle.
Being able to buy food, guns, etc makes the game pointless.
Zombie infestation is all about scavenging and finding goods to live and robbing others, not paying for items to live.

If I know I am going to order it on day one and there is a discount/good bonus for doing so I pre-order. I am kinda pissed that cd projekt red delayed the game so long with no kind of compensation for the pre-orders, but i love the company and will give them a pass.

What pisses me off is how indy and unfinished/early access games have absolutely flooded Steam

Steam has a quality control problem with their library. There is a lot of crap.

The built in review system let's you know what it's complete shite too

Halo: MCC is the only game I've ever preordered. All you're doing is repackaging old games under one title? Should be easy. Here is my money. OH GOD WHY?
