He's a solid post player. Zona is a top 8 program. Just because he's not getting a lot of PT at Arizona doesn't mean he won't have an impact at LSU. Can be a 12 point 8 rebound a game type player at LSU and a huge need since M n M probably leave.

Yeah, he's basically the last guy off the bench at Arizona, and there's not a lot of minutes behind Tarc, Ashley, and Stanley Johnson. It's also likely that Tarc and Ashley may be back next year, plus Ivan Rabb may be there along with other highly regarded players.

Lots of guys who leave big programs end up becoming decent role players at their new schools like Jamal Boykin at Cal. That would be very useful for next year's Tigers, especially if Martin and Mickey go pro. Next year's team will be very guard heavy and needs bigs, and it looks like Victor would be ready to play the entire SEC slate of games.

I saw him a couple if times, is e beings the Sunkist Shootout last year and I just thought he was meh. Tall kid, soft hands...just expected him to get 30+ or whatever.
Smaller kids were more impressive against him

I keep seeing guys saying that we need bigs. But if Martin or Mickey or both come back, where would we fit another big? Let's say Mickey goes, Martin stays. That is 6 scholarship guys (Simmons, Martin, Robinson, Bridgewater, Malone and Epps). Its not like you can really play any of the 3 at the same time, so that is 6 guys for 2 positions. I can't even imagine if both Martin and Mickey come back, they are going to have to show somebody the door.

I know a few of the guys could play some minutes at SF (Simmons, Martin, maybe Epps). But when I watch the team, they seem to favor the 3 guard line-up. As most teams do in college basketball. Maybe it's just a match up thing. But if they get Lyle, I'd think him and Quarterman would split the minutes as the 3rd guard/SF. So another big would just be riding the pine. Unless we just decide to go super big.

Malone could always leave, robinson isnt developed yet, simmons is likely a 3, and epps hasnt developed yet. Bridgewater is undersized. Even if these guys develop.....you likely wouldnt be getting martin and simmons back the following year, so the need is there.

Agreed. Malone is not, nor will be, a factor in our rotation. Epps is going to play the 3 here. I like Bridgewater, but you don't pass on Victor because you have Bridgewater. Simmons can play 1-4, but you're going to get the most out of him at the 3 where the ball is in his hands on the wing and he can create.

I still have high hopes for Robinson in year 2, 3, etc., but even then he's going to strictly play the 5 whereas Victor answers the ? you have moving forward multiple years at PF.

He's a credit to whatever team picks him up.

I don't know why they listed Tulane if they also listed LSU. We're probably his back-up option if LSU does not want him. We're starting to build up a so-so program and could REALLY put him to work.

He sounds like a local boy that wants to come home. This is the easiest type of transfer for LSU to get.

My guess is that he goes to LSU and becomes a supporting player on a team that makes the tournament in 2015-2016. He could actually be a full-time starter at Tulane - but we're not getting him unless we pay for it (and I don't think we'll get into THAT kind of fight with LSU).

He needs to say who his handlers were and out them! There kids think they are big shots until they wake up and find out someone has made all their decisions for them and made money as well.

It stupid in basketball how many of these great players in LA were automatically expected to leave the state.

Oh hell yes - you are spot on.

Louisiana basketball doesn't have be atrocious. The problem is that the local kids are being manipulated and pulled away from perfectly good opportunities at home.

Look at the talent map. There is no reason that the state doesn't have 3+ teams in the NCAA/NIT on an annual basis.

Can't crack the rotation. He's not as good as some think

Arizona's rotation is pretty good. I think he would get plenty of playing time at LSU and would help a lot with our depth issue.
