I did the redneck cleanse once. For 5 days straight, ate nothing but gas station burrito's, Popeyes red beans and rice, and Wendy's chili, all the while, taking Immodium every 4 hours.

Then, on day 6, switch to a diet of water, prunes and Ex-lax.

By about the middle of day 6, I could have launched one from the Riverwalk to Algiers.

I did this week long weird arse diet cleanse trick. Nothing but watermelon and watermelon juice on M and T, then nothing but bananas, tomatoes, and plain boiled chicken breast or turkey on W, then back to nothing but watermelon and watermelon juice TH, F.

The thing was you could eat as much of the stuff as you wanted. gorge yourself. Gotta say it was an interesting experience. By the end of the week, I no longer had ANY cravings for anything sweet, and the thought of fatty food made me gag a little. I lost 9 pounds those 5 days. I was miserable for first three, but by the end I honestly felt fantastic.

These cleanse diets are one of the worst things you can do to your body and it can seriously hurt you.

First, you are starving yourself. That alone puts your body into storage mode because it's not getting the needed nutrition.
Second, this stuff doesn't choose or target what to cleanse. It cleanses everything. Your body has anitbodies and bacteria that are needed in the digestive tract and they get cleansed out as well. It can take years to reverse the damage.

I personally know someone who did this and it put her in the hospital. Dr. told her the exact same thing I did when she started. To this day, her digestive systems isn't the same as it was before she did the cleanse and it's been over 2 years.
She's also in her 20's, so her body is in a lot better shape than most of you.
