how much has RockSmith taught you in terms of playing the guitar? Do you think you could pull your guitar off the cord and play a song by memory without seeing the cords?

Absolutely. Wish I would have had this 25 years ago!

i've actually taught myself by just learning tabs. i'm not great by any means, but it's a start. i feel like this game could be done the same way. i use to have the original rocksmith, but it's set-list didn't keep me engaged so i lost interest.

yeah I love that site! Def Leppard Hysteria! 98.5% learned

i've gone back and forth the past 2 years saying I wanted to get a guitar and this game but i've never pulled the string (no pun intended). I just worry that I would lose interest or get extremely frustrated at it.

This rocksmith is much better than the first one. I taught myself by ear and using tabs too. I played lead guitar in several bands in high school and college, and wish I had this as my learning tool.

well I am 29 years old, so there would be no learning to become a rockstar . Just something i've always wanted to learn how to do was to play guitar. I love music and I would love to be able to just sit there and jam away to clear my head

You should definitely do it. You will surprise yourself at what you can do.

the Hysteria track from the site doesnt have dynamic difficulty so its the full lead portion of the song, or as much as the creator put in for the lead track.

Get a mid level guitar, learn Am, C, G, and F, you can then play a shite ton of songs, including the rhythm parts to every ACDC song

ah sorry thought you meant the difficulty, yes I play on the PC. I have a PC that I use as a media server and its hooked up to the same TV as my Xbox so I play it on there for better sound and larger screen.

can y'all post some links to some good beginner level guitars? Also, does 3/4 size guitars really differ from a full sized?

Just get a full sized one.
I was actually going to link the made in Mexico Fenders, but I see you already did. That's probably the best value electric and if you want to sell it, you can actually get something out of it. It plays and sounds good too. cheap shitty guitars play and sound like cheap shitty guitars, you'll get frustrated quickly with a guitar that's hard to play and doesn't sound good.

I wouldn't. Get a cheap Epiphone guitar first. Spend less than $200. If you like playing and are getting good then you want to buy something real nice. I wouldn't waste my money or time on a $500 guitar. When and if you decide you like playing the $500 guitar will be about as useless as the $200 one. Just my opinion...

I would honestly prefer an acoustic guitar to an electric.

I'm not sure if the game will recognize an acoustic unless it was an electric/acoustic.
