He was exposed for what he is in that and also the Luke Axtall thing. Now only he and loyalist NC followers...and maybe Vitale...buy the image he wants to portray of himself.
But I don't think this completely absolves Dale as some do.

Not trying to just blindly defend Dale Brown, but this was in the news:

Brown and Jones, who was initially alleged to have given Earl $6,600, were cleared of all violations. Still, Earl in his letter felt they both deserved an apology.
"I feel sorriest for hurting coach Dale Brown," Earl wrote. "Coach Brown, I apologize to you for tarnishing your magnificent career at LSU. The second apology I owe most is to coach Johnny Jones. Coach Jones, I never imagined you would have suffered so much because of the few supposed 'little things' I told the NCAA that you did."...

Tis the holiday season. There is more to the story, but I'll leave Dale alone today.

He did some similar unethical tampering to get bad boy Axtall from Texas I think it was.
He also had a fan from an opposing team thrown out of a game at UNC a couple of years ago simply for cheering for his team and against UNC.
He's a phoney head to toe.
oh and I forgot their current academic scandal.

It’s a shame what happened with that kid. Got to see him play a lot in HS he was a warrior on the boards and even though his offensive game wouldn’t ever have matched his recruiting hype he was the kind of player fans would’ve loved. It’s amazing how one bad decision can have such a long lasting effect on a young mans life. I hate what went down but he was just a kid and I think he’s suffered more than his share of hate from our fanbase. He’s made a public apology for what happened it’s time to forgive the guy.

Cory Powell GOAT on that Glen Oaks team

He became a contrarian a-hole.

LSU should’ve pursued him harder. He was a damn good player and a big game performer.

That Glen Oaks gym was always intimidating. They pressed the entire game.
I scored my 2 points in my only 2 minutes in the game.
We are down by 30 to a Ryan Francis led team. Coach asks me to give Ryan a count. shite we have 30 seconds left. I do not want to be a part of his senior highlight mix.

Lester Earl is actually one of the most knowledgeable posters on this site.
Too bad he purposely posts bad takes, he knows are not true, because they are contrary to popular opinion.

My team played his in the first round of the playoffs my junior year and all his team wanted to do was throw him lobs (it was his sophomore year I think).
We got him the next year at a summer tourney/camp at LHS I think and the Glen Oaks/New Iberia game had every other team in the stands glued to their seats.
If I remember correctly, Chris Manuel (6’8” guard) and Kelvin Price (6’8” forward) tried to dunk on Lester on a 2-on-1 break and Lester not only blocked the dunk, but took it.
Lester was a beast in high school.

Absolute state of these “posters.”

One of the best individual battles I saw in HS was Earl vs Eugene Edgerson from St. Augustine at the top 28 back when it was at the PMAC. That was a war in the paint but Powell on the outside was the difference for Glen Oaks.
