Take the split or go for it all. Updated

so my dumb arse league allocated the payouts for a 12 person $100 league as $800 for winner, $100 for second. ($300 was spent at the draft getting wasted and eating chicken wings). The inevitable bargaining has begun to guarantee money. One suggestion was we each take $300 and then play for the final $300. Do i settle or go for it all. Could also each take $450. heres the matchup: my team is Gordons of the Galaxy

Usually there's the offer but it's rarely accepted.

Are you above him in waiver order? Use your claim to block him from picking up the DAL RB & beat him.

yea randle is owned but im guessing ill waste a pick on dunbar and drop kaep

Your team is better, especially if he doesn't have Randle

Big discrepancy btw 1st and 2nd. I'd do the 3 and play for 3.

One or two week final? If one week, I'm taking $300 and playing for $300 as there is so much luck involved in a one week matchup. If two weeks, I'm playing for it all.

Don't chop; beat him, ya virgin

text from him... he scared

What ya say? looks like murray will play. want to do 300 300 300? The projections aren't much in your favor.

If he's feeling froggy, frick with him. Offer that you'll take $300, he can have $200, and you'll play for $400. Worst he can do is tell you no

Is he mentally challenged? He's projected to lose by double digits while getting 27+ projected from Murray still. You're a ~30 y/o CE; you don't need the extra $200 that badly if you happen to lose. It's a significantly -EV play to chop given Murray's situation.

Do the split so you won't have to ask the board who to start.

i can count on one hand how many times ive asked the board who to start, and 99% of the time i go with my original instinct

Scenario 1 as it stands: You lose, you get $100.
Scenario 2 if you chop $300/$300/$300: You lose, you get $300
$300-$100=$200
Your team is in a much better situation than hisfor this week. If you want the security of the extra $200, then go ahead & be my guest. Math & probabilities are heavily in your favor if you put any sort of stock into projections, and that calculation is with his #1 player projected for over 27 points (very unlikely). Not sure what sort of advice you were looking for here.

makes sense. im going for it all

I'm not going to speak for your current financial situation. Might be smarter to chop if you don't know how you'd afford groceries for next week without the extra $200 like MSU
