He's not going anywhere. He's building his legacy in Baton Rouge. He will leave the all-time winningest coach in school history (give or take 150), with a 75% winning record, multiple SEC championships and I think we have 1 or 2 playoff runs ahead of us before he leaves.
Just need a QB as it is...

You don't think I'm stupid, dude. You and I are just looking at Miles through different lenses.
I am a selfish fan that wants to enjoy LSU football. Miles makes it more difficult to do that. It seems to me that Miles tries to minimize the risk and speed up the game so that at the end his more talented team has more points, even if it means not even attempting to maximize the results given the available talent. That bothers me, even if we squeak out a win, because it's not enjoyable to watch (during the actual game), and again, I'm a selfish fan who wants to enjoy the game I spend 3 hours watching.
You, on the other hand, see your fandom as some sort of moral issue and feel obligated to look at things in a positive light. Wins, however they come, allow you to do that. I can totally see where you're coming from, and it's certainly a reasonable stance if one sees one's fandom as a moral issue. I just think it's ridiculous to see sports in that way.
Plus, being a positiger makes you feel superior to the selfish fans like me, and that's a bonus for you.
Peace be with you, Choctaw.

As far as the off the record stuff, Les Miles wanted that info put out, he just didn't want to be on camera saying it. That way, if Jim Harbaugh turns Michigan down Les is still hoping for that phone call. If you get caught on camera saying this stuff, it can bite you in the arse and be played over, and over, and over...

It must be nice to be better than everyone else.

I'm sure your opinion is wrong Josh. You probably wanted Smoke Laval fired, and that dude went to back to back CWS and also won the SEC twice.

he may not be taking the job, but you're naive if you think there hasn't been contact.

Im still pissed dinardo was let go. He was one more chance away from bringing us to greatness.

There are a couple similarities with les and smoke. Mostly fan opinion of them. Apathy set into the baseball program and we are one 3 loss or more season away from the same thing happening with Miles.
I view both programs as top 5 in the country. So i expect great things from both. If PM goes 4 straight years without making it to omaha, he is getting canned. Samething should apply in football. No BCS next year, and that should be the end of it.

so you think a coach should make the playoffs every 4 years now or get fired.

At a program like lsu, yes.
Unless there are some big circumstances for the reason they arent.

I'm not sure if apathy is the right word for the football fan base right now, it's more like a sense of helplessness. Most know he's not going to be fired. But many have also lost confidence in the coaches ability to win a SEC or National title.

How dare you expect a coach to get Top 5 results from a program that recruits top 5 talent and has top 5 facilities. You should be thrilled with 9-4 and 10-3 because a long time ago before we had the facilities and consistent recruiting base, we used to only win 5-6 games per season.

Obviously we share different levels of expectations for the program.

You know what i meant choup, orange bowl, sugar bowl, rose bowl

I do think apathy will set in if we lose 3 or more next year. Only a minority of the fanbase is at that point at this moment
Posted on 12/16/14 at 10:01 am to josh336
So iF a Coach finishes 8,9, or 10 in the country for 4 years straight....BOOM! FIRED!!
Posted on 12/16/14 at 10:01 am to Choctaw
If we finsh 8, we should be playing in a very major bowl.
Posted on 12/16/14 at 10:03 am to josh336
A major bowl isn't the playoffs. Get your shite straight
