The Tigers have been invited to participate in the Progressive Legends Classic, a four-game event featuring two games early in November in Baton Rouge and then two games at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn Nov. 23-24 - the Monday and Tuesday before Thanksgiving.

The opponents are not known yet, but the Legends Classic perennially draws a solid field. The four teams that played in Brooklyn last month were Villanova, VCU, Michigan and Oregon, with the Wildcats claiming the tournament crown.

Nunez said a home-and-home is set with Wake Forest starting next season, with the first game likely in Baton Rouge. He said he and third-year coach Johnny Jones are also working on home-and-home series with two other power-five opponents, one that Nunez deemed 'high-profile.'

Much needed. Especially when we're normally hoping to be a bubble team...we need our RPI and SOS to be higher than it bas been in the past.

I like it. Hopefully the high-profile opponent is along the lines of a Duke, UNC or Kansas type.

I would expect "high profile" means either Duke or Kansas. Simmons can help us win those.

Next year could be either good or great, depending on what Mickey and Martin do

I think Mickey is long gone, but we have a chance, albeit less than a 50% one, of keeping Martin, but IF we do, oh boy...

PG - SR. Josh Gray
SG - FR. Antonio Blakeney (Yeah I'm jumping the gun)
SF - FR. Ben Simmons
PF - JR. Jarell Martin
C - SO. Elbert Robinson

Bench
PG Tim Quarterman
PG Jayln Patterson
CG Dominic Magee
SG Keith Hornsby
PF Aaron Epps
PF Brian Bridgewater
C Darcy Malone

Plus 1 more guy, hopefully, honestly we could use another big

This is what getting the top recruit in the country does for you. Finally multiple bigtime teams coming to the pmac.

a key line from the article: When we're working on games and scheduling, a lot of that depends on relationships between the coaches and between the administrators and how comfortable people are dealing with each other

a lot of big name coaches applauded the johnny jones hire at the time. looks like that may finally help with scheduling.
