Yeah, that's true as well. Wonder how many years you'd have to go back to find a true freshman starter?

Moral of the story may well be "Don't handle a QB situation so damned shitty that it can be used as an anti-LSU recruiting tool for years to come".

If I'm recruiting against LSU right now and I'm competing with them for a pure passer who runs a little, I'm showing him Jarret Lee's stat line over 8 games and then I'm gonna tell that recruit, "the guy who put these numbers up threw 2 INTs in the first half of a game and never saw the field again".

Then, I'm showing him all the times Miles said "his legs give us a chance" referencing the other guy.

Then, I'm pointing out that even with Mett, LSU ran the ball 61% of the time.

Basic sales pitch? "Son, you aren't going to be maximized over there if that guy lets you see the field at all. He's started one pure passer in that time and that dude's backup was a Freshman".

No doubt, it makes things much harder, but our "system" makes it even harder. Auburn's true sophomore QB, Jeremy Johnson, was forced to start the first half of the first game against Arkansas this year due to Marshall getting suspended and he threw for more yards in one half than either of our QBs threw for an entire game this year. Again, that was in the 1st game of the year. He had two TDs and they put up 21 points in one half.
