Sometimes at the Holiday Inn on West End has live music as well

Im not going to a hockey game if Im in Nashville. But to hit a few honky tonks and watch some of the best entertainment in the country for free, Im all in.
The arena is literally minutes to walk to Broadway. Caught my first NHL game there 2 weeks ago and had a blast. Perfect way to kick off the night of drinking and honky tonking downtown
You are missing a great opportunity for those that do not at least research it a bit. And I don't even like hockey

Broadway is right across the street. You can park at the arena and walk to Broadway. I'm not a hockey fan either but I LOVE going to Preds games. Trust me, if you have never been it's pretty awesome!

appreciate the info and if I do end up making this trip I'll probably end up doing this now

If you get there early make the time to tour the Opry Land Mills Hotel. Breaux Cajun Resturant is also very good. Stuffed smoked Pork Chop with andouille sausage. and Boiled Craw Fish. owner is originally from lafayette.

Love the preds. Go see them. You will be blown away with how awesome live hockey is at the NHL level.

Purchased Preds-Blues tickets last night. Looking forward to it. It does look like they've got great fan support and an awesome arena.
An LSU game at 2 and an NHL game at 7 sounds like a pretty awesome day.
The outside of the arena and the concourses are really nice. But the seating area on the inside is pretty dumpy IMO.

The team and fan support are top notch. Bridgestone is just kinda meh, though. Not very well maintained outside of the main bowl.
Would definitely recommend going to a game though. Good NHL hockey and NBA basketball are worlds better in person, especially when it is a rivalry or big game. Even moreso for playoff games.

Like baseball, hockey live & hockey on TV are almost two different games.
If we go, will definitely show up at the Titans game in proper Tiger attire. Think Mett would notice the Tigers in the stands.

The Predators/Blues game that night (30th) are the current #1 and #2 teams in NHL and they hate each other....lots of fights and hard body checks...
You can walk from football stadium across pedestrian bridge across Cumberland River right to Bridgestone arena. 20 minute walk.
Even if you are not a fan, you need to see Hockey "live" as it is really good.
BTW...I am from BR and lived in Nashville for 23 years.

Press games are a blast even if you don't think you like hockey. And you might run into Carrie or Taylor.

Isn't Carrie married to one of the players? She was there when I went.

I was going to suggest the same. I've been a STH for a few years now and love going to Preds games.
The Preds are doing very well now but have a tough slate of games this month. That particular game will be the 2nd of a back to back with the Preds playing Chicago in their barn the night before.
If you do go, warm-ups begin 30 minutes before the game starts. You can head down to the glass and get a close look at the players before the game begins if you like. If you get seats in the lower bowl keep your head up during the game for flying pucks/souvenirs. They do come over the glass from time to time and could hurt you if you're not paying attention. Lastly, unless it's an emergency, stay in your seat while the puck is in play. TV timeouts are the best times, if not during intermission, to head out to the concourse. Nashville also has live bands that play during the intermissions. Some nights it is a major local act or simply a band trying to make their name.
There is also a live pre and post game show outside sections 104/105 if you want to get on TV and wave to the locals. People love seeing themselves on TV for some reason. Go figure.
Regardless, you won't be disappointed. Especially if we win!

great tip...I don't watch hockey on tv, but have never failed to enjoy myself when attending in person...

I agree with this part. Those people are trying to make it so they tend to put there best foot forward.
But as a couple of people have said in this thread, everything is really centrally located in Nashville so its not hard to get from one to the other. Had to go there for work a few times for about a week at a time and passed by the hockey arena several times. Didn't see a game though. I don't know if it was off season or just decided not to go (its been a few years). Made a few of the honky-tonks though.
I think the Ryman is not far from there either.

Both the Ryman and Bridgestone Arena are on 5th Avenue within walking distance of one another.

Yes - a Preds game is a great idea. I would go myself, but me and my wife are headed down to Ft Lauderdale for a long weekend right after LSU takes care of business. We need some warm sunshine and I love seeing her in a bikini.
