Of course still want Harris, but Jennings showed that if you put him in a competent style of offense he can play.

This. People need to temper their enthusiasm about the "new" offense. A&M's defense is horrible and made our offense look much better than it is. If you want to see the real offense, watch the 2nd half. A&M made a few adjustments and we abandoned the plays that worked so well for us in the 1st half. In the end, it's sad that we still struggled to score 23 points against such a bad team, and then had to hold on at the end because the offense couldn't put the game away when they needed to.

Isn't it MAGICAL how the introduction of simple deception opens up the offense?
I'm wondering at what age Les and Cam learned to ride a bicycle.

I honestly believe that it took hitting rock bottom by being shut out by Arky to move Miles to change. Had we scored 10 in that game, no changes would have been made.

11 games into the season our coaches finally run an offense suited for the talent of our QB?
Were they worried about protecting Jennings all season from injury because of so little faith in Harris? Or did they finally draw up a game plan to the strengths of AJ?

Completely reactive. Had we started the year with this wrinkle it would have added a whole new dimension to the offense by now.
I guess being reactive is an improvement. In the past we haven't even done that.

We implemented some zone read and jet sweeps.....stuff my 12 year old's team does. Just amazing. It isn't a "new" offense. It is just adding some wrinkles based upon the defense

I really don't think it's accurate to call it "zone read". None of those plays looked like Jennings was reading anything... they all looked predesigned.

I completely disagree. Not saying those plays and formations we used last night weren't already in our play book but the way they were called and used is a complete departure from the past (at least for a good chunk of the game)

Throwing to the fullback 10 times a game won't cut it. Our passing game still looked like shite and A&M has one of the worst defenses in cfb

sure it has some kinks that need to be worked out and hated when we reverted back for much of the second half. Those kind of problems can be expected when you overhaul your offense in the last game of the regular season. But at least it gives hope going forward and it shows that Miles/Cam are capable of creating and implementing an effective offense even without experienced talent like Mett, Landry, OBJ, HIll, and Turner
agreed.

Jennings has been doing the read option all season and going no where. The difference this time was he was playin a terrible aTm defense. He looked like Auburn's QB last nite.

Some of you assholes - the ones that want every single play to be an 80 yard bomb - need to find a new team to back. You are clearly not real LSU fans. Just because you live in Louisiana or went to LSU doesn't mean you have to be an LSU fan. It's OK - really. Power running is what this team is all about. It has been this way for years. CLM isn't going anywhere - so you should.

The perception of how the game was called is different because the result was different. The play calling was different in first down. Our second and third down play calling was still the same just out of different formations and presnap motion. LSU just added some misdirection to make the defense play the somewhat honest.

When we played Bama one thing I thought we should have done is attack the outsides of their D Line with Jet sweeps and read options. Didnt get anything like that.

Last night was an example of adapting to the opponent you are playing this week. They focused on the AM weakness which was fortunately the LSU strength. This is what they should have been doing all year for each opponent instead of running up the middle all season hoping one of the teams would cave.

There were some nice changes, but it was against a weak run defense. Jennings remains a liability when trying to pass, too many overthrows. He did run very well, but again against a weak defense and Harris can run just as well. I hope that Harris gets a real chance to show what he can do in the bowl game.

well that was a big part of the new offense also, as was throwing on 1st and 2nd down and throwing to different recievers, TE, FB, and RB. Thought for sure after the mishaps on the first 3 drives Miles/Cam would shut down this offense. Proud of MIles/Cam sticking to it for at least a good portion of the game. Went into a shell for a good portion of the 2nd half and still have a lot of kinks to work out as would be expected.
