I'll cheer for certain players to do well, but would never cheer for their team over my main team
I've been a Red Sox fan since I was a kid also, but the Astros are my first team. I started watching them because my brother was a big fan and they were in a different league than the Astros at the time
I do find it hilarious when all the Kobe dick riders hate on Lebron fans, as if they would be "lifelong" Laker fans if he weren't there

Secondly, there's nothing wrong with someone from Louisiana pulling for the San Francisco 49ers, New York Islanders, and sometimes, when they're good, the Milwaukee Brewers. I bet he owns mad gear from his squads.

I'm talking about living birth to 12 or 13 (or older) in Boston and then moving to New Orleans. Pretty easy to see how you could be a fan of two teams.

I have never, at any point in my life, understood this concept. Pick a fricking team and support them.
I did my undergrad at LSU and grad school at GT, so I support both. Always cheer for LSU if they play each other.
Since moving to Minnesota I've gone to a few Timberwolves games, so I guess I have two NBA teams, but Hawks and Wolves both suck so it's hard to call it bandwagoning

I'm pretty much a 60/40 Spurs/Hornets fan, and I own a lot more Hornets gear. Also a Steelers fan who kind of likes to see the Panthers do well. I would like the Panthers more if they didn't always have at least one huge douchebag on the team (Smith/Cam). My excuse is that I got my favorite teams from my dad, and we didn't have any pro teams in NC when he was growing up.

I love watching the Packers play

Heat and Eagles.
Want both to succeed.

As a kid, I was a super-huge Saints fan, but liked the Oilers too. My kiddie dream in the 80's was a Saints-Oilers Super Bowl in the Superdome.
Now I hate all NFL teams aside from the Saints.
I do like to root for the New Orleans NFL players, especially Peyton and Eli Manning, and Marshall Faulk (when he was still playing). Just not when they play the Saints.

LSU and Georgia Tech would be the closest thing for me, but they're not really in a "league" together.
I pull for both equally hard, but I'd still want LSU to beat the dog shite out of GT if they went head to head.

I think there is a difference between college and pro sports fandom.
Pro sports are businesses that exist e to make money. Teams routinely relocate, dissolve, etc. Thus I don't expect people to have the same loyalty to a pro team that they do to a college.

I am a fan of the Badgers, Vikings, T'Wolves, and Twins.
I don't necessarily go out of my way to cheer for other teams, but I do enjoy following certain teams each year (i.e. if I have a fantasy player(s) I really like). Never would I purchase any gear, though.

I may casually pull for another team if I like a certain coach or player.
Never enough to buy their gear, though.

I went to grad school at the University of Tennessee and had a great time there. I'll root for them when they're not playing LSU.
My cousin played at LSU and was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the early 60's before the Saints were formed. So the Vikes became my first pro team and the Saints are a very strong secondary team-almost a 1A/1B.
It was a long frustrating run until the Saints finally won the Super Bowl XLIV.

I don't have secondary teams but I have teams that I root for because I like certain players, teams are fun to watch, I just wish them well in gerneral, etc.
-Cavs because of Lebron
- UK this year because all that talent and the platoon system is intriguing as hell and fun to watch
- Cardinals in football because of Mathieu and Peterson
- Giants because of OBJ and Randle starting
- Warriors are fun AF to watch

Only the NFL... because I was born in LA, grew up in Houston, then moved back to LA and have lived here ever since.
So it's Saints, then in a distant second place, the Texans.
I don't actively root for the Texans unless I happen to be back there for a game or watching with my Mom. I own none of their gear.

How long have you liked them?

Is this where I answer "since about 2000" and you call me a bandwagon fan?
