I see what you're getting at, but the fact of the matter is very few bank robberies end in death. Why do something that could possibly change that for the worse? A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, imo.
Yea. If I'm owning a bank, just give the dude the bag of cash with the little ink bomb in it and activate the silent alarm and let em go. Shootout inside the bank isn't good for anyone.

If you would go to the bank this afternoon and while standing in line an a-hole walks in and blows the teller away, robs what little cash they have, then puts the gun to your head and forces you to walk out with him, would you want a gun on you then?
That's an extremely common and logical scenario.

I don't really have a problem with any place of business having a no gun policy. Private business, do what they want.

I am more dangerous without a gun, actually.

Then why CC at all? What's the chances of EVER in your entire life needing a firearm? In that context, CC is completely illogical.

My feelings also.

Correct. A gun in my hand when the bank robber starts blasting is worth more than the two I left in my car.

I agree. This is why I have a pistol that sleeps in the truck, but don't carry anything on my person.
Plus I spend a lot of my time at a school, a hospital, or drunk. So I can't really anyway.

I think there's a distinction that needs to be made.
1. Should Joe Blow, legally licensed, be legally allowed to carry in your bank?
2. If you own a bank, should you allow your employees to carry?
I think disbarring Joe Blow from carrying does no good for anyone.
In the case you describe, I can understand the insurance policies and subsequent shite storm from an employee legally carrying and shooting a perp in your bank.
Do I agree with it with my own belief system? No. Do I think private banks should be able to make their own policies with their own employees? Yes. A private business can do what it wants.
Do I think that there should be a LAW (read, not a "policy") barring the carry of firearms in a bank? Well, you know how well laws work against the average criminal...

My argument is for both customers and employees.

Bank tellers are instructed to give up the money and include the dye pack if possible. The money is insured and the bank would rather avoid someone dying in the branch. I have absolutely no problem with it.

Well, you have my answers then.

No - I like banks having a no gun policy. I was in a teller line in WM on Thomas road when the old bank one was robbed.
I did not know anything was wrong until after the robber left the bank. I saw a girl running from behind the teller line and lock the south door. The the wmpd showed up. I had to stay in the lobby for nearly 2 hours after.
The only person that knew a gun had been pulled was the teller. If I had known it was going down and if I had my sig, I probably would not have reacted properly unless I was in direct threat.
But - the gun probably would make me think before reacting. Back when I was country strong, I would just whipped that arse. My sig makes me think before doing something stupid.

You just strengthened my case for average citizens carrying in your bank. Using best judgment and shite...

I forgot to mention that for Joe Blow coming into your bank, unless you can provide security for him at your bank and guarantee it, then aren't you liable for his safety if he is disbarred from carrying?
This is what most people point to when they talk about sporting events. I am a little less irritated about it at an event where EVERYONE is checked at the door.

I don't think we are on the same page. I'm not saying I'm going to start shooting or even pull my weapon at the first sight of a gun.
I couldn't care less if some money gets stolen but I do care if somebody's life is threatened, especially my family's or mine.
I want to have my weapon on me when it becomes a standoff where hostages are taken or shots are fired.

someone armed in a bank thinking they can stop "threat" puts too many lives at jeopardy. I don't think bank robbers go in there looking to shoot unprovoked.

I agree. As someone not carrying a gun in a hypothetical bank that allows guns, if I'm in there during a robbery I certainly don't want some jackass pulling his piece and starting a firefight around me when they could just as easily let it go without anyone getting shot.

Well whose money do they want, mine or the bank's? If it's the bank's, go for it. If they rob every customer inside, there is a potential hostage situation and using force seems more reasonable than putting all faith into the criminal's trigger finger.
Again, many of you CC and know you would try to use your best judgment before firing away. Does that mean you would in the heat of the moment? Maybe, maybe not. But being armed gives you options. Being unarmed gives you 0 options.
