Or maybe they figured Jennings has been ruined already and throwing Harris into the fire a second time might ruin him as well if he performs like he did the first time.
This is the absolute only defensible excuse the coaches could have to not make the change. I think it is shortsided, but at least it would be one being made with intentions to better the team going forward.
really? Jennings was ruined in which game? The State game right after the ultimate comeback against wisky? really?
The LSU offense was manhandles against Wisconsin till late in the game. The LSU offense was manhandled against Miss State the entire game until Brandon started balling out with his team.
I do not think the coaches appreciate Brandon showing out like that.

maybe, but why does he not get another shot? Jennings played as bad against Arky, yet, no chance of seeing anybody else.
I'm not saying he doesn't deserve another shot. But, I think a lot of you forgot just how horrible Harris was against auburn. Like, he completed a single pass, struggled in the huddle, and couldn't convert a single first down. He looked absolutely lost. With Jennings, its clearly an execution issue. With Harris, he was a liability, whereas Jennings has just been a very low value asset.
Its a tough spot for the staff to be in, and I don't know why we don't appreciate that. Sure its largely on them that we are in this position, but if you are in a tough spot, what's the point of bitching about what lead you there.

Elite = championships. Yes he has a high % winning, but the Crystal is going into Alabama every year, with OUR La kids.. Les seems complacent and is just not getting it done. We don't want him gone, we just want the "fire" back in him, like when he first came to LSU..

Miles has not successfully recruited and developed one high school QB.

Miles is stubborn, and when the crowd boo'd his decision to play AJ when his performance was well under par, he threw B Harris to the tigers in Auburn knowing that, without a running game in a hostile environment, the odds was significantly against him. Miles way of "take this" to those who boo'd my decisions.
So, you actually believe this?

so how would you rate BH's performance at Auburn in his first career start to AJ's performance against New Mexico State AT HOME in his SIXTH start Holmes? didn't he turn the ball over 3 times in a quarter? it's a wash in my book and most everyone else's too with any sense. the issue that the BH supporters has is why hasn't he played since? there's no logical explanation.

It's the price you pay for a stubborn coach who's stuck in the '80's offensively.
Umm last year we set SEC records in the offensive categories. ......had you don't post often...

How was he ready 2 months ago if he isn't ready now?
they thought (hoped, prayed) he was ready after the way he played against new mexico and ms state. they were very disappointed when they discovered they were incorrect as BH didn't step up and claim the job.

2. If he isn't ready after being with the team nearly a year, isn't that the fault of the coaches?
of course that is possible. but if you have ever managed people that need training before launching their endeavor (which I highly doubt you have) then you should KNOW that teaching is a two way street; you have the teacher and you have the student. the teacher cannot drill a hole in the students head and insert the necessary variables that the student needs to be successful. students learn these at their own rate whether the teacher likes it or not.

Based on AJ play, how can you conclude he is ready?
well, since it's a comparison between AJ and BH then you are at a decidedly unfair position aren't you? it seems as if the coaching staff, men with over a hundred years of collective hands on live experience, feel that overall AJ gives the team the best chance to win the game at this time.
and you, with zero credible experience, have concluded that they are wrong and you are right. you have no proof nor do you have the expertise nor team knowledge to base your opinion but as a fan you have the right to voice it. most folks just ignore your opinions but for some unknown reason I selected this post to answer your questions. I have a headache and have been sick all day and I guess I just feel masochistic.

I am a supporter of both guys, as crazy as that sounds. As far as comparing performances, they both sucked in their worst games. But, i can get over forcing throws against a shite team more than watching some guy just not look like he belonged on the field. And I would take Jordan hare over TS booing me any day of the week.
Harris has played since, he threw a pick vs UK.
The logical explanation is that Harris might be an even worse option this year. Objective evidence supports this as a possibility. Further, the coaches may actually believe Jennings gives them a better chance. They have a lot more to go on than you or I. Another piece to that logic is we won 3/5 of the past games, and all if them were tight, so I can see not taking a chance by switching QBs, although that argument holds a lot less water in the ark game.
I have said it before, and will say it again. Harris is a very raw prospect. I challenge the board to find any piece of published writing from this time last year indicating he would be ready to go this year; you won't. He was never going to be a first year starter, that's why he wasn't a 5 star. He may have been the most talented QB last year, but he wasn't ready to go out of the box.
Everyone seems to clamor "prepare him for next year! Let him play and take his lumps!" Well, not one person on this board has coached at a high level, much less watch practice. It is reasonable to assume that letting him sit, might be the best thing for his future.
I'm just as frustrated that our offense is horrible as everyone else. However, I don't just assume one option is better just because I don't like the other option.

Jennings had all season to show what he can do.
This. IMHO AJ cannot 1)read the defense, 2)run his progressions, and 3)if he gets through 1 and 2 he cannot make the short and intermediate passes to receivers in traffic. This is not a flame but just observations from the season. I don't know if BH can do any better but I know that we don't know yet.
Another poster said about QB play that if you don't know who is going to be open or covered before the snap then the likelihood of success on that play goes way down. I have to agree and I don't think AJ has mastered that.
Notice, he has not thrown a quick slant or a WR screen all season. The coaches don't trust him.

I'm tired of hear about how bad Harris was against Auburn. WTF did Jennings do against Auburn?
Posted on 11/20/14 at 7:07 pm to CptBengal
It took Sims four years at Bama to be ready.
It took Mett four years to get ready.
It took Jason Campbell four years at Auburn to get ready.
For all, but a select few, it takes several years to master a college QB position.
We screwed up four years ago, and failed to land a good one. It sucks, but that's what it is. If AJ is a good one, he'll play serviceably next year. If Harris is a great one he'll play well next year. We'll see.

It's not the coaches fault that we run a scheme not suited for the two scholarship QBs we do have.
I sincerely, sincerely hope that this is meant to be sarcastic. . . They either fail for not recruiting the proper kind of QB to run their scheme, or they fail for not adapting their scheme to the players that they have.
Pray tell, if it isn't the coaches fault, whose is it?

BC this thread is about Harris and how ready he is, so it has nothing to do with Jennings
