we have a useless TE coach that does literally nothing but cash his pay checks,
You know this how?
How do you know how much he does or does not contribute to the game planning, practices and sideline dynamic.
Please tell us and be specific.
Thank you.

You are right (original poster)
we do not develop or encourage our QBs.
Isolation is not a good "mental" medicine.
I do not remember seeing a QB that has developed (except for some maturity) under Miles.
You could argue Mett to a degree, but that's about it.

think they have to see the alignment and that is just much tougher from the sideline. They do talk on the headset, but there is no face-to-face contact, for sure. Ensminger is on the sideline, as is Miles, but I don't think the OC is going to call the game from the sideline so he can talk to the QB in person between series.
I know it's important to see what the defense is doing and all but I think it would be much better if Cameron was on the sideline calling plays and coaching QBs and just let someone who is a defensive guru talk to Cam over the headset telling him what the other teams defense is doing. Hell, Chavis is up in the box. I'm sure he would already know more than anyone what the other teams approach on defense is.
We need Cam on the sideline being hands on with these guys coaching them up!

Mett seemed to do pretty well last year.

This was the straw that broke Cameron's back in Baltimore, along with his uber conservative playcalling. Flacko wanted him on the sidelines, and it developed into a schism between Harbaugh and Cameron.

Or maybe what's causing our QB problems is Mike the Tiger not coming to the games.

He'll yes. He needs to get up off his lazy arse and coach these kids on the sideline. Their aren't many OCs sitting in boxes while their QB struggles on the field. I think we truly need to go with a younger QB coach, and keep him at OC if he can't make the switch. That would mean either promoting somebody to administration, or firing.

I agree with your post.
Bring back Mett's QB booth!

Feel the same way. If they were seniors maybe the booth would be ok.
I mentioned this before but when LSU won a few games it wasn't important.
Face to face encouragement or but chewing is a "want" of mine for them.

I understand that Cameron prefers to coach from the press box, but there is a huge issue here especially with young players.
This has irritated me for years. About the only interaction face to face with coaches is when they are coming off the field and Les asking them "What happened?" I got blasted a while back when I brought it up. I don't recall watching any other team not having some coaches coaching on the sideline during the game. LSU coaching is a hot mess right now and this is one of the problems to add to the long list. I guess Les is too busy counting his money to care though.

I truly believe this is an area where LSU is stunting the development of all of its QBs. What do the rest of you think?

Although Ensminger's title is TE coach, seems like he could help the QB's with some on the field counsel since he played QB & has coached QB's before.
I also doubt this will happen.

cam was on the sidelines in baltimore from what I remember

quote:WR coach Henry needs to pick up TE's and let former LSU QB Steve Ensminger assist CCC with QB's and coach them down on the sidelines. This would be an improvement over the current situation of having no QB coach down there.
early 100% of non-HC offensive coordinators, NFL and college, call the game from the box. Unfortunately, there is no QB coach, as that is Cam's quandry - a QB coach would be on the sidelines. They've put Brad Kragthorpe in that role the past 2 years as a player/coach.
