Some old, thug POS in Georgia shot a kid in the head for pulling into his driveway on accident. The only punishment he gets is 12 months probation. fricking travesty of justice.

He settled a civil suit with them before his criminal trial. Strange...

Crazy old fricker probably shouldn't even own a gun.

He [victim's father] also said it was his son’s dream that his little sister come to the United States. He asked the court if any doors could now be opened for that to happen.

That's odd.

Yep. We don't want him to do jail time. BTW, can we get our daughter into the U.S. now?

Investigators say GPS misguided Rodrigo Diaz to the wrong house that night. Diaz was trying to get to the home across the street so he could pick up a friend to go roller-skating. When Sailors saw the strange car, he came out shooting. He fired once into the air. Investigators say the second shot went through the window and struck Diaz in the head.
I could see opening up if this guy was trying to kick in your front door but coming out shooting just because a car you did not recognize pulls in your driveway? This old fricker is nuts and needs to be put away or put down.

Who the hell sees a car pull in their driveway and runs out shooting?
This story is definitely missing something.
Crazy old men do. This is why I don't honk at or display anger in my car anymore.

That is just terrible. I can't believe the family was ok with the ruling!

Hell, what if their 16 yr old grand kid had just got their first car and was all excited to go show it to grandpa?

As we first reported in May, the Diaz family sued Phillip Sailors citing he acted negligently. Attorneys say there was a settlement in which the family received an undisclosed amount of money.
The family of the victim agreed to support a minimal criminal penalty in exchange for the monetary civil settlement. Theres your missing piece.

After the hearing, Diaz’s father, Rodrigo Diaz Senior. told Kavanaugh that Sailors could have received a stronger punishment, but he believed that would only end up destroying two families.
A lot of truth here. If the victim's family feels justice then I'm ok with it. And my guess is that there was a lot more to this story than has been reported.
