After listening to episode 8 this morning, I now believe that Adnan is guilty but Jay was totally present for the murder and is covering his own arse.

Frick you tyler
I agree, beam. I've been thinking as much
The shite about threatening Stephanie is weird as frick. I don't get that part at all and have a hard time believing it happened
I've read some of the reddit. But I want to comment and I hate posting on reddit. What a shitty forum

Wait. You think jay was present for the actual murder? Not just the cover up? Interesting
He's been lying way too much

quote:We've got Jay saying that he's threatening Stephanie. Meanwhile, Adnan has claimed that they were friends and he even reminded Jay to buy her a birthday gift. So bizarre.

I also noticed in E1 that Jay called Adnan his "Ex Friend" during his recording with detectives. Meanwhile, Adnan seems to have no ill feelings about Jay. Which I just don't understand one bit.

Ok I got a little confused, wasn't paying full attention. But what was the point of threatening Stephanie?
To make sure Jay didn't out him to the cops? I thought jay already said he couldn't go to the cops because he was a drug dealer?

And what about that call Adnan got at "Cathy's" house where he says some to the effect of "what am I going to tell them?" Presumably he was just talking with the cops.
That's way too damning to me, but as a jury member I still couldn't convict based off of some teenage girl's impression of someone's state of mind. Teenage girls always overreact to other people's emotions and actions.

But like he said, why would he answer the cops call?
I wouldn't. I never answer unknown numbers

And he was stoned. I hope everyone has been stoned. You're usually weird when stoned to those who aren't
And maybe someone called him about the cops. And he was like "what am I supposed to say to them?" Because he had nothing to say, no information

Back in 99 I would have answered any number coming into my cell. Especially if I had just got the phone. No telemarketers back then

There's no way that Muslim kid did it.

Yeah. You're right
And everybody didn't have cells so who knows what number they might be calling from
frick this podcast. I'm done

I guess I should be more specific. There's no way the jury should have convicted him based on what was presented.
Was there really only a 20 minute window where he could have done it?and he was supposedly at the library. I can buy he wouldn't remember much leading up,to the cops telling him she went missing. You may remember stuff better after that but the events leading up,to it? Nah.
Like for 9-11 I have vivid memories of the day after hearing but I don't remember anything prior. Don't know what happened that morning before school. Nor do I recall first period. But I do remember hearing about it in art class. The seeing the tower fall in study hall. Then going home early and worrying about my physics test the next day. Remember my mom got pizza delivered because she just couldn't cook.
Plus the dude was stoned.

Good call. I'm taking the being stoned into account
But you're right. I've tried to remember several important days, like where was I during oj? And I'm old enough to remember. And on 9-11 all I remember is being at work and a coworker going home and getting a little portable POS b&w TV. Don't know how we found out or anything else about the day
PS I'm glad football Nostradamus hasn't found this thread
