Chris Picco singing Blackbird to his son, Lennon James Picco, who was delivered by emergency C-section at 24 weeks when Chris' wife Ashley unexpectedly and tragically passed away in her sleep. Lennon's lack of movement and brain activity was a constant concern for the doctors and nurses at Loma Linda University Hospital, where he received the absolute best care available. During the pregnancy, Ashley would often feel Lennon moving to music so Chris asked if he could bring his guitar into the NICU and play for Lennon, which he did for several hours during the last days of Lennon's precious life. One day after filming this, Lennon went to sleep in his daddy's arms.

Yup. Lost his wife before the birth of his son. Then 4 days later lost his son.

Yeah, my son was born 10 weeks early. Not too bad, but still pretty stressful.

I'd have to be put in the nut house. Wouldn't be able to function if I lost my wife or son

Yeah no, I'm not watching that. To lose your wife and son in a matter of days, I can't even begin to comprehend.
I think I could be strong for my sons if I lost my wife, and I think I could be strong for my wife if we lost one or both of our sons, but to lose them all in a matter of days? I would probably end up a crazy homeless man or in a psych ward or something.

I actually was curious how he made it through the song with falling apart

Two posters shared their stories about losing young children. Truly a humbling experience. It's incredible how strong they are, to keep living.

To be honest, this is a reason why I have trouble turning the homeless away. I always think of stuff like this.

Damn that's rough. I couldn't imagine my wife and then my son. Three of my four kids were in NICU the first one was a stillborn at 25 weeks. Like another poster said I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy and that's the truth. RIP
