Saban isnt coming back, but why are you so against Miles? even if we fire him, the best coach in the country is still at alabama.
Posted on 11/10/14 at 2:32 pm to Tiger_n_ATL
I think Saban tries to be a good person, but he is just so competitive that he comes off as a jerk. If he was just a nice guy, he wouldn't have experienced the success he has had.

Tiger n ATL has been obsessed with Miles hate for years. He's out celebrating the loss on Saturday.

This is so true. What kind of person wishes deep down his/her team would lose so they can bash the most winningest coach in school history. Sick sick people.

Because Louisiana has a far better recruiting advantage than Alabama. A good hire could change a lot of things. Before we even look at beating Alabama, we need to dominate Mississippi and Arkansas like we have MSU in the last 15 years.
We are the only game in town. We should have every prospect in Louisiana line up to play for LSU. There are no other schools worth a damn in La.
We are neatly tucked in between two of the best states for recruiting, with prospects from Florida always giving us a look too.
Mississippi has two teams that used to suck. They have to fight each other for the top 50 prospects in their state. LSU and Alabama should have their pick.
But Texas.....dammit, East Texas was always the key. After we kept most (not every....I am not delusional) of the Louisiana prospects, we can supplement the rest with the Texas prospects.
Understood that there are a lot of schools in Texas, as well as OSU/OU that come in.
But we should have the best recruiting advantage for Any prospect within 400 miles. But we are squandering that too....as well as our allure to the instate prospects.
Get a guy that can capitalize on this advantage. Make our offense attractive again. Let's not even talk about defense at this time.

dstone 12 have you looked at the recruiting budgets for Bama vs LSU, obviously not but Bama's is 3x LSU's legally, get LSU's equivalent or beyond and that might help.
If you look at the legal numbers the gumps have a huge advantage. One could make an argument that Les out recruits Saban on these numbers.
Nick has done better at Bama than he did at LSU...go figure. Despite that huge advantage that LSU has on your analsis. Give me a break tard.

I have never met a real LSU fan that pulled for LSU to lose.
This mindset is so, so stupid. I love LSU, and I love Les Miles, but I don't have to like what is going on.
To say that someone is celebrating an LSU loss is to not think before hitting send.

Yes look how that turned out for UF, Texas, USC. You want a good hire. Good luck. How old are you, I'm in my 50's.

I dont think that is true.
lets look at pure facts. Grogia and florida are closer to bama. Those are the two most talent rich states in the south. We are next to texas, but still get our fare share of guys from there. Now tuscaloosa is smack in the middle of sec country, distance is never a factor for them, and some parts of louisiana are actually equal distance to tuscaloosa and baton rouge. So while we have advantage in texas, they have an advantage in florida and georgia. they have an advantage over texas compared to uga, usc, tenn and uf. and an advantage in the eastern states over lsu, tamu arky and state.
Now back to owning ole miss and arky, well we didnt do that under saban either. hell saban didnt beat bama 5 times like les has so i really dont see what you are getting at.
Im just saying Les isnt that far behind, meaning i dont see why you would want to waste millions of dollars to buy him and his staff out just so we will have to go out and spend even more on a new coach. les is slowly getting passed up in salary around the sec.
Then let us say we do get a new coach, there is no way of knowing how well he will do in recruiting, remember kids used to leave the state all the time, i dont see why hiring a new coach will change that, especially if you dont have frank wilson on staff and bama still has burns, meaning they will also own nola along with north la. but rt now with our current staff, we have done a decent job of keeping saban out of nola.
oh and btw, there are some stats ive seen posted on here and about a few years after katrina the number of kids drafted from louisiana doubled. the hurricanes destroyed the most talent rich area of the state and les was the coach during that. Les won a bcs title with 51% oos kids. Id say the recruiting field didnt level out until 2011. But even then the per capita argument is a bullshite argument. Florida had 4 times the amount of players drafted as louisiana, that means 4 teams can still field equal talent, and if one of the top 3 schools holds down the state of florida, they are in fact going to be the most talented team in the country. Plus i look around lousiana and dont see any dts, we have to go oos to find those guys, lbs were hard to come by and our best one is from alabama. go figure.

I didn't say anything about budgets....just geography.
Picture Nick Saban at LSU cornering Skip Bertman in his office. Do you really think he would have been denied if asking for a better recruiting budget?
Hell, he was the reason that it went up while at LSU.
Combine that animal mentality of a winner with the geography of Louisiana......it's a winner, and still can be, one day.
Also, Florida, Texas and Georgia are tops in NUMBERS of prospects.
But you have to look at the prospects per capita....Lousiana and Mississippi are even with those three, if not better.
Also don't avoid the fact that we don't share our state with any other worth-a-damn school....please address that.

i gave you a pretty good explanation on why i dont think we have an advantage, it has everything to do with geography.
Not speaking on budgets because there could be many factors in that.

I'll probably get hammered for this, but it's hard not to respect and maybe even like Saban. I hold no hard feelings toward the guy

Because he had just gotten here. Please don't get this confused, man.
Do you really think he'd have the same record against those two now? Come on, please

no you cant. 10 players drafted from louisiana. 44 from florida. Even if florida splits those between 4 teams, they have more nfl players than lsu. not all 11 of those guys went to LSu and i know not all 44 of those went to UF, FSU, Miami.
but if they did, per capita means nothing.
another example, If 11 of those guys were athletes, rb or wrs, dbs, we still wont win a championship, it is won in the trenches, and thats the problem. la is loaded with athletes. we can not field a a good team on la talent alone. Texas, georgia and florida can. especially if one school from that stae owns a cycle.

I don't like his team beating LSU, but other than that, I agree.
