Arse's Fatty Rewind™ (Halloween, Felix's, Day of the Dead, etc)

Hallelujah! My body survived another glorious weekend.
I started my Friday night with a cab ride to the Quarter. I had pieces of my costume everywhere, but my bourbon drink never left my hand. My first stop was my buddy's house, where I refilled with some bourbon. We then went to Lafitte's to wait for some other couples. The block was jumping.
I ran to Amelie to tell my friends hello. I got a rhubarb and rye to go with my candy.
From there, we attempted to go to Frenchmen. But as you know, the Quarter is a small place and I know a ton of residents there. I think I stopped at no less than 10 parties on my walk over. I grabbed this weenie at some persons house in the 1100 block of Royal. It was amazing and did not need any condiments. It's hard to describe the snap on the weenie, but it was outstanding.
As the bourbon kept flowing, I began craving tater tots. We were trying to get to 13, but the streets were impassable and I hate crowds. My friend suggested we go to the 700 Club, since they serve them.
The crowd was a little slim there. Upon arrival, we went to the kitchen and ordered tots and a smoked sausage. I started talking to the staff and they invited me into the kitchen. They had a cake in the back with a severed Mickey Mouse head. The cake was moist and delicious. It reminded me of a rum cake.
The tots filled me up, and the sausage was a tasty treat.
After eating, I decided it was time to grab another round and hit the dance floor. For a gay bar, the music was not very popping. My friend knows the bartenders there, so I suggested that she request some Miley and Madonna. The crowd responded to our requests accordingly, and I could smell the pheromones in the air.
After a few dances, I cabbed back home.
On Saturday, I awoke to find out that I could not cross St. Charles because some showoffs decided to run a half marathon in front of my house. My errands were screwed. I showered and headed to Lafitte's for breakfast and listen to some 90's R&B.
I stayed there for a few hours intending on dining at Peche for lunch with some friends. One met me at the bar for a few drinks, and the other showed up around 1 after work. Since I didn't want to drive or walk to Peche, we decided to go to Felix's. The food and service were awesome.
The line was long. We skipped them suckers and grabbed a seat at the oyster bar. I let the ladies sit, while I stood. I got a Dixie and started eating raw oysters. They were cold and salty. They just throw them in front of you at the bar.
My shucker was a lady. She and I hit it off, since I found out she was from the East like me. She had me cracking up when we were talking about She She's. She used to be a bartender there. She said it always smelled like oysters and coconut.

After hearing that delightful description, I decided to get the seafood platter and a dozen chargrilled.
Look at all this butter!
The platter was great. The shrimp stood out to me. The oysters were full of flavor, but they were not that hot. They may have sat for a while before being brought to me. I can't wait to go back. frick Acme.
We then went back to Lafitte's to drink and watch a little football. The weather was amazing and the crowds were out. I met some Florida fans and we celebrated their win.
Some wrestlers stopped by and we had a few shots. I was showing them some moves, but one badass put his buddy in a pile driver. I got scared.
After horsing around, my bro called to invite me to Ted's Frostop on Claiborne to celebrate his team's championship. We hopped in my friend's Delta 88 convertible and strolled Uptown.
We were treated to a few Buds, hamburgers and crinkle fries. I love crinkle fries. I got two orders. The meal was very nostalgic and fun.
I even taught the kids how to schmony.
After dinner, my friend and I had to run to Rouse's to pick up some grease for her store. While we were shopping, I decided I wanted some gelato. The only problem is that I could not decided on what flavor to get. I got 3 (peanut butter cup, cookies and cream, and dulce de leche). I'm not sure if these are made in house, but they were good. The dulce de leche was a little too sweet for me.
We then returned to the quarter, and I was approached by several strippers. I had to tell Satan to get behind me, since I had to be in church at 9.
After getting my friend home and closing my tab at Lafitte's, I headed off to bed.
On Sunday, I went to mass to remember all of the souls. Afterwords, we went to Richelieu. Richelieu has been one of our go to breakfast stops, and I have written about them in the past. I ordered a Beam, club sandwich, grits, and blue cheese dip. I also had some crepes.
After breakfast, we headed to Coops to meet a friend for a drink. I then went to Lafitte's and walked around to do a little shopping.
I stayed down there until about 5. I had a Day of the Dead party to attend, and I did not want to head Uptown then return back. I played some music, and hit rock bottom when this cute girl told me Boyz 2 Men are terrible.
After wiping my tears, I headed to the party. There was an amazing altar set up.
I also had some of the best chicken mole I have had. I put it on top of some rice.
Around 7:30, I headed home to pass out.
Stay fat my friends.

p.s..Let us be grateful that we live in the best city in the world. The little lady sent me a pic of the most depressing plate of food, I've ever seen in my life. They're in Center, TX this week for family affairs. She ate at the only restaurant in town and it was buffet.

Felix's is one of my all-time favorite dining experiences. Gotta stand at the oyster bar. Their Bloody Mary and raw oysters will cure even the worst hangover.
